Trusting 3rd Party Vendors

Discussion in 'Automated Trading' started by WinstonTJ, Dec 15, 2011.

  1. Looking for some feedback - The intent of this thread is purely to get feedback so please don't read into it any more than what it is.

There are various 3rd party vendors out there that offer backtest platforms, forward testing on strategies, etc.

Since historical data is very large, expensive and can have licensing or distribution restrictions most 3rd party vendors have chosen a platform where the client or user loads their system or strategy on a platform or website and it is tested from there. From a service provider standpoint this is ideal since the data is so large it would be nearly impossible to have enough bandwidth to support hundreds (or thousands) of users pushing data over the internet.

What security or trust features would be ideal so that the end user knows he/she is getting good, clean data; his/her strategy is protected and remains 100% confidential and an overall level of trust and good will exists?

    Thx for replies and input!
