Not in the traditional sense; but he can be going extended periods without eating and still be fat. I worked with a guy never ate breakfast or lunch, worked 12 hour days every day, weighed an easy 325 at 6 feet tall. How? He ate nothing but shit food when he did eat and was never anywhere near a calorie deficit. He's still going at 70. Oh yeah, smokes 3 packs a day.
I do a user-friendly version of intermittent fasting (~15 hours) and am able to control my weight without issue. But I find that when I skip a meal I tend to overeat. I'm not sure your coworker was doing himself any favors by skipping breakfast and lunch irrespective of the crap he ate when he gorged.
Same here. I eat my last meal between 3 and 4pm and don't eat again until 7 or 8am. I never feel like I'm starving during that period. I just try to eat 3 well balanced meals during the day, but you're right, if I miss a meal then I feel much more hungry than I do during that evening and night stretch.
Clearly a non-responder. Unless he would have blimped out even more without it. I doubt the company has plans to use him as their spokesman anytime soon.
I tend to eat smaller meals more often during the window. I'm not suggesting it's necessarily better; I just prefer it that way. It's what I've gotten used to.
