I'm surprised people are missing the MUCH larger part of the story. In reading the text VP Vance wasn't too thrilled with the idea. While tepid, he was questioning the wisdom of the strike and made points that are troublsem to Trump unity at the upper level. Pete may get fired, but now we see that Vance isn't exactly all in on the Trump military agenda. That's a problem brewing.
The Trump administration about their denials. I am very sure that the reporters saved screen shots of the entire thread -- including portions showing the Yemen attack plans -- to a secure place. I am sure that the Atlantic reporter will be glad to hand over the screen shots to Democratic Congressional leaders who have security clearances. The Trump administration won't be able to make a fuss about the screen shots being turned over to Democratic leaders -- since they have denied any of the texted material had national security implications or is considered classified. White House denies 'war plans,' classified information discussed in Signal chat on Yemen https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/whi...fied-information-discussed/story?id=120126088
Also Pete Hegseth and Vance both called the EU, which is the largest purchaser of US weapons, a parasite for "free loading". Europe buys 35% of all US arms exports. The Middle East, 33%. Oh and Israel, part of that Middle East figure buys them with aid money the US gives them. So you know, Europe is paying for its weapons.
It could have been worst. They could have used Skype (I think it no longer exist), Telegram, Messenger, iMessage, WhatsApp, Threema et cetera for United States War Plan strategy discussions... Same apps that most global banks in the world have banned their employees from using to discuss banking operations because Forex markets and others were using these apps to fuck over retail traders until they were caught by someone...accidentally...who then revealed how they were doing it and calling themselves "The Cartel". I'm just guessing that every White House administration has been doing this since the birth of the internet. Thus, it's not just a Trump problem but at some point someone in the White House should be saying if global banks and institutional trading firms banned these apps... Shouldn't the U.S. government do the same??? P.S. Today is the Medal of Honor Day to honor the recipients of the highest award for valor (bravery) in our U.S. military. The new museum in their honor...opened today after it has being in the making for several decades. It finally opened today. https://mohmuseum.org/ The Signal Group Chat is a distraction from the above when the Medal of Honor Day and its new museum should have been the biggest news story today. wrbtrader
Flight data show Steve Witkoff was in Russia during group chat on Signal Why... of course... he was. As top Trump aides sent texts on Signal, flight data show a member of the group chat was in Russia https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-envoy-steve-witkoff-signal-text-group-chat-russia-putin/
LOL. If the White House is claiming that no classified information was discussed on the text thread then it is OK to release more messages publicly. Right? The White House should have simply come out and said directly -- "Yeah, we screwed up. Thanks for bringing this to our notice. We will fix the problem and use secure government communications in the future" -- and then choose one sacrificial lamb to fire over the incident. This would put the entire situation in the rear view mirror in less than three days. Atlantic Editor Threatens to Release More Texts From Trump Officials’ War Plan Group Chat https://www.thedailybeast.com/atlan...xts-from-trump-officials-war-plan-group-chat/ Trump's administration made a massive mistake. Lying about it makes it worse. This is a big deal, and should result in firings and serious investigations. Instead, the Trump administration is doing what it does best: shrugging off the incident and lying about it. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opin...gnal-national-security-chat-leak/82656428007/
