I'm torn between just letting these leftist shitholes burn to the ground, or the feds going in, arresting the mayors and entire city councils while enforcing the law with new federally appointed mayors and councils until a election can be scheduled to replace the radical leftists who previously held the positions. Extreme measures are called for.
Well, at least you're honest about supporting authoritarianism & not believing in our system of government. May I recommend China for your retirement?
I am against thugs destroying and looting, just like i am against thugs spraying tear gas and hitting peaceful protesters. Not all protesters are thugs and not all cops are thugs. That's the problem here. They cant just come in without badges and in unmarked cars to stop the 10 or 20 rioters. Think about the power you are giving to a rouge Mo-F**K by letting him loose with so much power. No man. Its not an easy solution.
I'm not so sure you can classify what is happening outside the Federal building in Portland - in any way - as peaceful. But I suppose there are people showing up without intent for violence. Still, if someone decides to be peaceful and joins a mob burning and attacking a federal building, should the cops distinguish the peaceful from the mob? Are they able to? Or should the peaceful protester (wanting, of course, peace) look around and go "uh, this might not be where I want to hang out"
Lets take the video of the Navy guy as an example. Was he burning anything? Hitting anyone? destroying anything? Not from what i saw. Trust me when I say, there is a fine line there we do not want to be crossing. edit: How about if the rioters and anarchist are being sent in by the same side that is trying to suppress freedom of speech or peaceful protest? in order to justify their actions.
Here is the video I think you are speaking of. If not, please redirect me to the proper video. First, the "damage" to the guy wasn't all that much. You see he walks away and gives the middle finger. I know you didn't say he was "damaged". Second, when the police order you to disperse and you ignore them, you leave the realm of "peaceful protest" and enter the zone of "Failing to Obey A Lawful Order from a Police Officer" and you are now guilty of a second degree misdemeanor. Not a big deal, but it gives the officer the ability to remove you by force, if necessary. Do I think - in this particular video - the actions from the officer hitting the guy with the baton are over the top? Sure. I don't like it either. But the LEO is in the middle of a riot for all intents and purposes. The LEO is charged with clearing the zone and doesn't have time to have tea with a protester who is ignoring the lawful order to disperse. At the end of the day, if you want to claim you are peaceful and sit in the middle of a riot and ignore the police, don't be surprised when you get mace in the face or treated poorly. Stupid games, stupid prizes and all that.
I get T and I cant argue your points. I just don't really like what I am seeing with the no badge and unmarked care whisking people away. That should be really alarming to you.
Brother, just about the whole world is alarming to me right now. As an avid 2A guy, the St Louis decision to prosecute law abiding citizens who went on their front porch to stop "peaceful protesters" from breaking into their house and doing God knows what....because that's exactly what I would do if people came breaking in. A dozen things or so a day alarm me. I'm not enjoying this fucking year at all.
Exactly, the same type of government the founders of America fought against, is now revered and requested by about half of this whacked out generation. Guess what, it's almost here.
Why is supporting law and order and not wanting riots and destruction the equivalent of supporting totalitarian rule?
