You are calling 98 percent peaceful protest with some riotous behavior riots.

The rules apply everywhere. What are you suggesting?

Are you saying that all the whining about masks the whole world is wearing, and the dismissive attitudes towards secret police arresting peaceful protesters is because you're mad that people weren't social distancing during the protests? Or are you merely just deploying the whataboutism pseudo defense?

Can there ever be an issue that doesn't immediately invoke the whataboutism "defense?" (It's not a real defense, btw.)

Whataboutism is completely a valid defense. The only people who say otherwise are people trying to protect one class of citizen or side of the argument from another. The only thing Whataboutism doesn't do is absolve you of guilt if you are doing something wrong. You don't get to say "well, they're doing it too!"

If you tell me I have to stay inside and lock down to prevent the spread of a virus, and then you attack me every time I go outside or don't wear a mask, but you openly allow and in some cases encourage it when it is protesting and rioting, I don't get to say "hey, what about them?"

No, that would be the officers of the court attempting to halt the unconstitutional overreach had you bothered to watch the videos.

I've already stated that the rules applied to everyone; so it's not a valid defense in this case.

They broke the rules. But that doesn't mean that my response should be to also break the rules.

If we were in elementary school, and Tommy and Johnny were allowed to have recess, and you were denied; then yeah ... go for it! Get your recess by any means necessary. Break some rules!

But these rule are about the health and safety of health workers, elderly, young, others and most importantly, not clogging up hospitals--not recess; not D's vs R's.

Only in this country, at this time, with this generation, can the whole world wear masks; and at the same time, Half of America thinks it's about a Trump thing.

Yeah, kinda like the trump rally’s where no mask or social distancing was enforced. That really pissed us off. :D

Not talking about you applying the rules here. I'm glad you think that they apply equally to everyone, so do I. But that isn't how they're being applied out there by cities, states and federal government. That's the point.

Everyone wearing a mask is doing the right thing, everyone not wearing one (in places that require or advise you should wear one) is doing the wrong thing. We agree.

The mask issue of "you're taking away my freedom" is just as silly as all the people in the streets rioting and protesting during a pandemic. Both groups are guilty of pushing the pandemic forward and making it worse. The difference here is only one is being criticized openly for it.

And you should have been pissed off. But your ire should be equally placed at rallies like these:

Is it? Are you having as much of a problem with this? Because if you aren't, and it's all about the Trump rally, you might be part of the problem.

Ok, we agree on all points except this one. Maybe because I don't watch fox news. The news I watch/read regularly reports on protesters and party goers not covering and distancing.

Can I choose a few neighbors I want disappeared. You know the guy who never mows his lawn, the other guy who revs his bike at midnight, the one Boston fan, plus a few others. Is there a number I can call to have them "disappeared". Maybe just call in and say they are guilty of not being aligned with our "group think" or something. A dark van will arrive in middle of the night and haul them off.
