  3. Yeah let's overlook the hypocrisy of YOUR President claiming to end chain immigration and speaking out against it and then using the smae law to slide his in laws into the country. When did Obama speak out against people in the same hypocritical way.

Can you ever call out Trump's bullshit or you think even calling out one bad thing about him makes you seem like you are banging hillary. You can dislike both Obama and Trump for the same reasons. Just takes integrity.

Democrats have already rejected the proposal. The government stays partially shut down.

Nancy and Chuckie insist that Trump reopen the govt before they will "negotiate". This is the precise method used to extract a massive amnesty from Ronald Reagan after which they reneged on the agreement. Reagan got suckered by the same play. Trump will not.

And Trump is interested in solving the problem by offering a temporary solution and kicking the can down the road 3 yrs from now right?

  6. Exactly. Give us everything WE want first, and then we'll "talk" about what YOU want. That has been the leftist game for decades on this issue.

I think most Americans will view his offer as more fair than not. At least he offered a compromise.
If the Dems reject it and he uses other funds to build a wall, they just gave away any leverage they had with DACA.

  8. I don't hear him apologizing for the shutdown, and he shouldn't since it's a two way street. The left has no interest in good faith negation so it's time for Trump to lay the hammer down. The president has a lot more power than just grounding Nancy's little plane ride.

You may be right about the optics, although in reality, it's hardly a compromise. Trump created the mess by rescinding DACA, created the mess by doing the shut down, and now offers to "fix" it by going back to what we had. It's been his strategy for 2 yrs. now.

I'll agree the dems have to extract a permanent solution out of this offering (perm. residency) for those two classes, and Trump can get his 5 billion for wall upkeep.

  10. There is an obvious emotional appeal to your argument. I have some issues with it though.

First, these kids, to the extent they went to school and weren't just running errands for MS13, stole the value of their education. If you don't think local governments take that seriously, try enrolling your kid in another county or state's public schools. So we have already given them an enormous undeserved benefit. A few, which we will hear about endlessly, will be high achievers. Most will not be, and statistically are highly likely to end up on welfare or in prison.

Second, the predictable effect of any amnesty is to encourage others to come here illegally with their kids to get in on it or the next inevitable amnesty. Of course democrats desperately want that to happen. Those of us paying the bills and seeing our country invaded have a different viewpoint.

Third, democrats are never going to give up the idea of citizenship for these people. It's bad enough that they would get free educations and green cards, etc, not to mention the ability to confer birth citizenship on their numerous offspring. Or be able to use chain migration to bring in millions of other claimed family members. To let them become citizens however is a slap in the face of all who respect the rule of law. Bassically it is telling us it means nothing to be a citizen of this country. Anyone can just waltz in here and claim the same rights we have, actually more rights since they can take advantage of the full buffet of affirmative action programs denied to white America.
