As usual, the simplistic and singularly useless analysis displayed above fails to mention this which also happened in 2018
Senate elections are much different than House and Presidential elections, but of course you know this.Democrats can get 18 million more votes and still lose the Senate.
This is the beauty of how The Republic was set up. 2 Senators in each state. When midterm elections happen, the states that don't have Senator races have fewer people turn out as well. Mind you, when the country was founded, Senators were not elected, they were sent by state legislatures and that's how it should still be done.
Highly undemocratic.Thankfully Democrats can stop Trump by taking the House in 2026 and reverse all his executive orders when they take the White House back in 2028. Currently, one senator represents about 19,600,000 people in California, while in Wyoming, one senator represents about 290,000 people. If the two (2020)Georgia seats go to the Democrats, the Senate will be split 50-50, but the Democratic half will represent 41,549,808 more people than the Republican half. The population of states represented by Democratic senators sum to 36% more people than the population of states represented by Republican senators — 204 million compared to 150 million
We've been over this numerous times------This is The United States of America, not The United Peoples of America. This is not a democracy, rather this is a republic.
Point is Trump winning the Senate in 2018 or 2026 doesn't mean the people are behind him. The population of states represented by Democratic senators sum to 36% more people than the population of states represented by Republican senators — 204 million compared to 150 million If the two (2020)Georgia seats go to the Democrats, the Senate will be split 50-50, but the Democratic half will represent 41,549,808 more people than the Republican half.
The Senate is the presence of the states in Congreff. The House is the presence of The People in Congreff. This is why voting for Senators should not be allowed.
Voting should definitely be allowed and Democrats need to get some balls and make it that The Senate represents the people equally.
Then the country won't exist as a Republic anymore. The Senate is the states' check on a rogue House.
