I realize your example is about bringing in someone to influence a trial. I was just correcting your method of doing so. The video provided the context of your point. A photograph of the movie did not. Because not every one of your readers have seen the film, so would not know what you meant with a simple photograph/film still.

  4. Watched the pretrial motions where the attorney for one of the lynchers asked for a mistrial (denied) and then complained that Jesse Jackson was sitting in the public section of the court. Judge told them that everyone is complying with the court requests regarding decorum and attire so he was not going to ask anyone to leave a public place in the court simply for sitting.

defense is basically grabbing at all straws like a defense atty should but DA got up and spoke for 30 seconds shooting down all motions for mistrial and dismissal.

  5. I know it's Brunswick, GA, but if these 3 aren't found guilty I'll be shocked. Honestly, if they walk, riots are probably justified lol. I say this believing Rittenhouse will and should get off based on the facts of that case (doesn't mean I think he's anything, but a moron). I called Chauvin being found guilty on all 3 charges so I'm hoping to go 3/3 with the high profile public convictions this year.

I think they have an excellent chance to be acquitted. Travis McMichael did very well on the stand today.

All three defendants have rested their case. Jury has been dismissed until Monday morning.

It came out that Arbery has a long history of being caught in places he didn't belong (10 separate incidents) and being hostile or doing unexpected things when he was questioned by the police. In addition to being convicted on a plea deal for taking the gun to the girls basketball game.

Also witnesses were apparently forbidden to testify that the crime wave in the neighborhood stopped after he was killed.

But the judge excluded all of this evidence, even though it would have been relevant to his propensity to grab the gun and fight.

All of that came out in the court trial or did you read that on the same website as Gavin Newsom suffering from a gruesome injury after getting his Covid vaccination ???

Only news report I've read since the court trial started was below...

    ---------

During the trial, the site's owner, Larry English Jr, testified that the man in question had not disturbed or damaged his property during the visit.

Mr English said cameras had spotted other people - including children and a white couple - trespassing on his property, but he never authorised the McMichaels to enter his property or confront anyone.

Jurors were also shown bodycam footage of the armed McMichaels searching for a suspected burglar at Mr English's property 12 days before the jogger was killed.

    ---------

I'm no lawyer but I think the property owner testified that no crime was committed and that others including the McMichaels had trespassed on his property...

The law at the time in Georgia states for a citizen to make an arrest...they must have visually seen a crime occur as it was occurring.

I think there's a big problem with the "citizen arrest" angle that lead to the shooting of this guy that posed no threat to the shooters when no weapons were found on the dead guy and there's video evidence that he was just jogging down the street making no threats nor committing a crime.

Rittenhouse has a better self-defense case than these guys in Georgia. :D
