LOL!!! https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/06/politics/trade-deficit-record-trump/index.html US trade deficit grows by more than $100 billion under Trump By Katie Lobosco, CNN Updated 5:06 PM ET, Wed March 6, 2019 Washington (CNN)The US trade deficit hit a 10-year high in 2018, growing by $69 billion, according to figures released on Wednesday by the Census Bureau. Since Trump took office, the deficit has grown by more than $100 billion, the Census Bureau reported. That means that the United States is importing more in goods and services than it sells abroad -- despite two years of Trump's "America First" policies. That's despite President Donald Trump's efforts to revive American manufacturing and reduce dependence on imported goods, including steel and other materials. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/06/us-china-trade-deficit-record-1242498 U.S. trade gap with China reaches all-time high under Trump By DOUG PALMER 03/06/2019 09:04 AM EST Updated 03/06/2019 03:21 PM EST The U.S. trade deficit in goods with China set a new record during President Donald Trump’s second year in office, despite his efforts to rein in what the administration views as Beijing's trade transgressions. The trade gap rose to $419.2 billion in 2018, from the previous record of $375.5 billion in 2017, a Commerce Department report released Wednesday showed.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-sees-1-trillion-deficits-for-next-four-years Trump Budget Sees $1 Trillion Deficits for Next Four Years By Katia Dmitrieva March 11, 2019, President Donald Trump’s newest budget forecasts the U.S. fiscal deficit surpassing $1 trillion this year and staying above that level until 2022. The fiscal 2020 proposal sees the deficit expanding to $1.1 trillion for 2019 and 2020, when Trump will run for re-election. The shortfall is seen narrowing slightly to $1.07 trillion in 2021 and $1.05 trillion in 2022, before shrinking every year through 2029. The budget deficit has already climbed 77 percent in the first four months of the current fiscal year through September, according to Treasury Department data. Growing budget deficits would run contrary to the narrative put forth by the Trump administration that a package of tax cuts that took force last year will pay for themselves through faster economic growth. The White House budget blueprint is sure to hit a wall of opposition from Democrats and encounter resistance from Republicans as well. The Congressional Budget Office, a non-partisan arm of Congress, in January pushed out its projections for the deficit to top $1 trillion until 2022 from an earlier expectation of 2020 amid lower disaster relief spending. That report projected muted economic gains in coming years, partly because of the fading impact of tax cuts and higher spending.
Mmm...mmm very tasty kool-aid. You are talking about that kool-aid of prosperity..capitalism..equality for ALL regardless of race ...law abiding citizens...protect our country...make America Great... preserve our history...making America #1 in freedom...prosperity..hope...opportunity...productivity ...aren’t you? The kool-aid Mr T has been so diligently serving while being attacked incessantly by those of a socialist/marxist/fascism/nazisms/communistic mindset.
LOL question: Are you a socialist HERE4Money? Just asking. No offense. I have friends that are socialist in the beliefs but capitalists in the actions. REALLY. Many politicians are. Um Bernie comes to mind...lets see...there are some more too...I am quite confident a new trove of them will arise from the dead and arrive on the scene. From the dead I say because socialism..marxism..fascism..communism ..ad nauseam are all “dead” ideologies that have been proven to NOT work and belong in the graveyard of history to NEVER be resurrected again. But you always got people digging up dead bones...so sad...
that is because of the 'forward buy' to get the stuff in ahead of the tariff date... common sense, how can imports grow long term with tariff on? CNN is clearly the enemy of the country.. and the people have caught on already... their ratings are in the toilet.
CNN, Bloomberg... you keep quoting Trump's enemies.... that's fine. of course there is a lag between the cut and the benefits of the cut. if you look at the country as a whole, a tax cut does not reduce the countries wealth, by itself... it simply moves wealth from the gov to the private sector, which in capitalists view is always a good thing. now lets' talk about globally... the US used to be among the highest corp tax rate... I am a consultant and have participated in multiple projects for several F500 companies, and the objectives of these projects were just tax dodging... moving profits off shore even though the US market revenue is the biggest.... so with high tax rate the country as a whole is LOSING to other countries. domestically this has the same effect.... CA middle class moving to TX... NY just shot down a high tax for the millionaire earners. again common sense - money is like water, it flows to the lowest ground (aka tax rate), all else being equal.
7 pages in and I want to point out something - the biggest problem the Dems have, is they have no platform. do you seriously want your kids to live in a country proposed by these 20 candidates... the Green new scam (pls look up my many posts about the 2 inch co2 layer), and open borders, and take other people's money to give out free shit. the only thing they have is 'Trump bad'.... and that won't work too well, so what is the alternative? going back to the do-nothing obama, hence Biden's popularity? do-nothing used to work in the previous decades after ww2... and there has been consensus in the biz community that grid lock in DC is good... which sorta made sense.. problem is for the past 3 decades, while the US was doing nothing, China has been doing a LOT... and at the GDP growth rate when Trump took over, the US was less than 2% and China was around 6%... that would allow China to catch in nominal GDP in a few years... they are only ~40% behind... they PPP is already higher.... so the other big question is will you want your children to live in a country that has lost world dominance...and it's nothing like the UK lost dominance to the US... the culture and way of life are still more or less the same.... China represents everything that is opposite to the Western way of life.
