'being close to war' sounds like fake news spin... how close? are we actually closer? Trump has his way of doing things... and so far the trade deals with Korea, mexico, japan, the EU... all have been improved in the US favor.. China soon to follow.

let's just use neutral language... 'kissing as' sounds like fake news spin... Kim was testing missiles before Trump.. now he is not testing... that is progress... granted that he has not done any de-nuke, but this stuff takes time... progress is progress though.

well AMZN maybe an exception as they have so little realized profit lol... but if you look at AAPL, that would make a huge difference as a big chunk of would-be tax payment is now kept by the company... and most of the SP500 companies lie somewhere in between AAPL and AMZN..

that is only partially true... yes with more cash on hand some of it will be used to buy back... but again easy money is the main driver... I have posted a few times... with LQD at 3.5% and SPY forward yielding 6%, it's no brainer to borrow and buy back, and capture the 2.5%, for FREE!

and by the way, I am gonna ask the question again, unrelated to this thread... what the F is everybody waiting for... the SPY fair value is $500, just a matter of how we get there to make this free 2.5% disappear.

and back on topic, with more money in hand, companies can also spend in other ways - the wages are on the up tick especially among low wage workers. Money can also be used in R&D.

let's see how it plays out... I'd say based on how he has handled North Korea and China and others, I feel comfortable about where we are... you may feel differently.. that is ok.. because the situation right now is not clear.

North Korea fires 2 short-range missiles, 5 days after previous launch; US tests long-range missile within 10 minutes

    Published May 9

North Korea fired two short-range missiles on Thursday, according to South Korean military, as the U.S. responded with an intercontinental ballistic missile test of their own just 10 minutes later.

The launch, the second such move in less than a week, occurred around 4:30 p.m. local time from the North’s Sino-ri missile base, the South’s joint chiefs of staff said in a statement. The base is located around 130 miles north of the border with South Korea. The missiles flew 260 and 170 miles respectively, according to South Korean military officials. The U.S. insisted the timing of their own test was entirely coincidental.

The base is believed to operate Rodong short- and medium-range ballistic missiles, according to the New York Times.

who is the boss here lol.

Trump views these relationships as business transactions, and rightfully so.... there is really no such thing as allies.. if you think about it... the so called allies are really just politicians from various countries trying to score points for their next elections.

Obama's style was - US paying for everything - the Iran deal, the Paris deal, doing nothing against China's WTO violations.

Trump is different - he doesn't want the US to get ripped off, and he's been saying that since the 1980's... and his supporters like that style.
