Ugh, sorry... going out to eat at a new place can be a huge crap shoot. In LA you'd probably been better off at a Marxist Mexican food truck. Delicious!
The view was good but... A few strands of "hand pulled black spaghetti" in a vape cloud? Off to Little Ethiopia in West Hollywood shortly for something I'm told will restore my faith.
When you are invited, you are not the one paying. It was just gouging and too noticeable. I don't care if a starter is any amount, but past a certain point it better be fucking amazing.
Wait, wtf!?!? You were treated to an expensive meal and you're complaining about how much it cost? Don't you know anything about economics Tux? Don't answer that.
People raised with some degree of wealth tend to develop an instinctive sense of value, it’s not about price tags, it’s about more important things. It’s a kind of discernment, a non-visual aesthetic. Like how in the trailer park, the trailers without wheels are considered higher tier. But if they have wheels and have just put siding on to make it looks like they are static, well, that's really ugh. Just putting it in terms you might appreciate.
Lol. Thanks Tux... I'll look for that when I can finally afford to move out of my cardboard box and into a run-down mobile. BTW, seriously, some of the modular homes they're building these days are nothing to sneeze at. This one is what they call "panelized prefab":
That's why Buffett/BRK bought Clayton Homes in the early 2000's. Visionary. And it is only getting started.
