I don't think Democraps will allow Trump to take control of the Times. They would find a way to stop it with the FTC and anti-trust laws somehow. Could you imagine if the left lost the Times as their preeminent supporter?

(Donald) Trump is exploring ways to make news in a more literal way: by acquiring the New York Times. According to sources familiar with the situation, Trump has engaged in more than one meeting to discuss how he might buy the Grey Lady. Details of Trump’s strategy remain scant. And it seems unlikely, to say the least, that the Sulzberger family, which controls the company's voting shares, would welcome his offer.

A spokesperson for Trump declined to comment. The Times also declined to comment. The newspaper has long been rumored to be a coveted trophy for acquisitive billionaires, with Mayor Michael Bloomberg commonly mentioned as a potential buyer.

If Trump bought the NYT there would be a mass walkout of staff.

  3. Wouldn't that be a good thing? Then Trump could hire some reporters.

  4. Doubtful. Where would they work?

people who care about the finances of this country do need to buy some of these media companies.

I read an article shortly after the election that the PAC's would have better spent their millions buying up some of the liberal press and changing their message.

Would it be that big of a loss?

  8. 1) When "non-media" people become interested in media companies, SELL everything. :D :p
    2) Would acquiring the NYT be any different than what Sam Zell has gone through with the Chicago Tribune?
    3) Trump is a douche. :)

All those liberal writers would need to be replaced with sensible people anyway.

  10. Hey...:D

    At least Nyc has one.

Who's the reigning "douche" in Chicago?
