Trump's lost already. It's amazing to me you can't see it. The idiots I can understand they can't see a world where their hero isn't a winner they'll go down with the ship.
There's one thing here that just doesn't sit well with me, and I wrote about it when it happened. Why didn't the NYT's save that story about Putin placing a bounty on our soldiers in Afghanistan? It would have been a hell of an October surprise. None of us know the real facts, but there's obviously enough smoke there to do some serious last minute damage and perhaps sway some battleground-state folks on the fence. Why'd they waste it this early? Was it a tactical error on their part, or are they sitting on something really big? This is not their first rodeo; one wouldn't think they'd mess up like that. Unless they were worried about getting scooped; I suppose that's always a possibility. Who knows, but these guys live politics... maybe they already realize Biden is either going to step aside or go totally brain-dead in the debates. Or both. If I had to guess, I think they may have something bigger and they're saving it because they may just need it.
There is a lot of don't ask/don't tell going on. The dems don't want to advance that as an issue too strongly because they know that it will mess up the troop withdrawal from Afg. They are hoping/expecting Joe to win and as much as they like to stick needles into Trump over Afg, if he removed the troops before Joe allegedly takes over and took it off the table as a major international thorn- while being able to blame on Trump- well, damn, that would be as good as it gets. Not sure why they would want to get in the way of that gift from the gods. The facts are also murky. I mean no one doubts that the ruskies were supporting the taliban and seeing Americans being killed was good outcome for them but that stops a little short of proving that it was a bounty program and the New York Times agreed with that. Similarly when the ruskies were occupying Afg and we were supporting the Muhadajeen/sp against them there plenty of ruskies being killed, but I don't know that there was a specific paying for corpses arrangement. I just don't know. The NYT might have more but the atmospherics these days are not good for the kind of bombthrowing that they are trying to do with that story. The lefties were okay releasing the Taliban Dream Team and watching them going back to the battlefield to kill Americans. They don't really get cranked over that kind of thing. And in the current atmosphere where a large number of lefties and dems in general are running around either outright trying to kill police or undermine their safety, I don't see them suddenly taking a break from chanting that pigs need to be fried like bacon so that they can be outraged over dead American soldiers. I don't deny that it is murky. And then there were all the lawsuits from gold star families and journalists that allege that all the big defense contractors in Afg were paying protection money to the Taliban and that Hillary's state department and others looked the other way or did not nothing about it, resulting in a major source of funding for terrorists. That is not pretty either and the lefty press agreed to look the other way on that too. As I said, there are don't ask/don't tell roads that people do not want to go down. Murky.
The only "bet" I have going at this time is long Gold and Silver miners based on the uncertainties in the US in recent months.
I think the Russia bounty story on US troops is bogus. Here is why. Think about it. The US is at war with the Taliban in Afghanistan. Do you think they will not target US troops because of it? Russia does not even have to offer a bounty. Seems like the bogus lies typical of extreme liberals like the Russia collusion story? In all this, Democrats ignore China who has stolen intellectual and military secrets of the US multiple times? While, Chinese hackers have a field day, the New York Times and other liberal rags, post more of their BS lies and distortions. One more reason for the kids glove treatment of China is Joe Biden and the Democrats have all sorts of deals with the Chinese where they benefit financially, so the US be damned. We have our millions to worry about? Who cares about the US interests? Remember these are the same guys who supported NAFTA under Bill Clinton, outsourcing tens of millions of jobs to China at the expense of working Americans.
Absolutely regarding what is really going on, or what went on.... that's why I included the part about "enough smoke". You know as well as I do its all about spin. The populace has lost the ability to think critically for the most part Small. I for one don't understand how Russia, China, whoever can influence our elections via social media. But obviously they can. Or so we're told. So the spirit of my post was all about the perception this would create. And it would have been a very strong October surprise. The rest of what I said regarding the fact that they may be sitting on something... don't discount that. I could easily be wrong though. Just thinking out loud really.
Ahhhh..... for real, its too crowded. Gold as I type is $2030 Take the money and lets re-evaluate later. For real. Even if it heads north, you won't miss much. They're commodities. Metals. That's all you need to know. Avoid the hype. $1800 is a given.
Mining stocks ( not the metals themselves ) are not a crowded trade they are lagging metal prices still a ton of upside into Q3 earnings. For some of them, as long as Gold held $1670 they are good to go. Anything above that goes straight to their cash balance. Two of the miners I own have all in costs less then $1000 per ounce. No hype involved I'm extremely familiar with Canadian mining stocks. Silver stocks have even more torque but a little more short term risk due to broader markets.
