I think you are right with respect to the numbers. But that minority has been given a much larger voice than it deserves. And worse it emboldens the worst elements of that group to do horrible things. The media doesn't quite hate trump, and trump doesn't hate the media. He doesn't even hate the New York Times. Trump uses the media for the purposes of distracting the public and they use him for ratings. Odd that he tweets about NFL protestors in week 3 (not week 1, preseason, nor last season), but during week 3 which happens to be two days before his tax reform plan is released. A solid traditional Republican plan that will not benefit 99.5% of his base, but instead the 1% and really the .1%.
Should be interesting to see how the inevitable trade wars damage the US economy. 220% tariffs are a message that Trump's America is about abusing capitalism not encouraging it. No surprise really given how he built his empire, taking huge risks and simply declaring bankruptcy and letting everyone go when the risks didn't work out.
Mmmmm, I beg to differ on that. I look at everything with a clear head, its the only way to win against the markets.... not that thats what we're talking about here, but I do watch the news. Tonight for example, they're hammering him on Puerto Rico. But he spoke the truth. PR is a mess financially. You're gonna blast a guy for saying what's true? And with regards to the response...hell they're doing all they can. I challenge anyone to do better, given the obstacles that need to be overcome. And yet on every channel, he is being slammed. There is no love by the media for Trump. I'm not saying he's perfect, but had he been a Dem and beat Bush, there's no doubt in my mind it would be a different story. Thats just the way things work in this day and age. Putin's winning Newurldman...but most aren't smart enough to see it. He plays both sides. And we fall like lemmings. You can take that to the bank too.
I think the response to Katrina left everyone with a sour taste for inaction. C'mon now, if he's not going to act swiftly, he could at least try to direct media attention to Puerto Rico, not some kneeling players. new Orleans was no bastion of prosperity, but even Bush didn't sink low enough to bring up that irrelevant fact. If our taxes aren't going to protect us in an hour of need, then why pay them?
The relationship trump has with the media is unique to trump. It's not a republican thing. No one else has it because no one else says the batshit crazy tings trump does. he is a master troll and they know he's a ratings goldmine. He has said a lot of things that aren't considered appropriate in our society. The regular people might like his "candor" but how do you expect the others to react to it?
I suppose to many the rotten things Trump has said is the sort of BS that is spoken in bars after a few drinks. Perhaps a refreshing change from the expertly written BS that politicians have been reading out for years.
Canada Gets Desperate After Trade Dispute Upends Super Hornet Plans Spat between Bombardier and Boeing has Canadian officials scrounging abroad for second-hand F/A-18s. https://www.mnn.com/lifestyle/eco-tourism/photos/north-americas-loneliest-roads/middle-nowhere As Canada continues to struggle with what to do about its participation in the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, attempts to buy interim replacements for its aging CF-18A+ Hornets have turned into a saga of their own. The country's military is desperately scrounging around for places like Kuwait and Australia for second-hand fighter jets to bolster their existing fleet in the wake of a rhetorically charged trade dispute between Canadian firm Bombardier and Super Hornet maker Boeing. On Sept. 28, 2017, Canadian Defense Minster Harjit Sajjan revealed that Canada had and might still be considering buying second-hand F/A-18C/D Hornets from Kuwait. Unfortunately, there were serious concerns about whether the two countries could finalize a deal before the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (RCAF) approximately 65 active CF-18A+s, also known as the CF-188, reached the end of their service life.
