Don’t Believe Vanity Fair’s Story About Futures Traders Making Billions Off of Trump Chaos https://slate.com/business/2019/10/vanity-fairs-trump-chaos-trades-story-is-a-fantasy.html “Vanity Fair published an explosive story Wednesday night asserting that unknown futures traders have made billions of dollars front-running Donald Trump’s statements. Anybody who hates Trump would love to love this story, which helps explain why people who should know better are lauding it. The story is bullshit. (It was bullshit the first time around, too, but people seem to be paying more attention this time.) ...” (continued at the link above)
Since you asked for proof, here is one specific article that i still had on my Facebook timeline. https://www.hln.be/nieuws/buitenlan...tijdens-bezoek-aan-kinderziekenhuis~a9e83007/ I am none of the above, i am someone who is neutral. I am not for nor against Trump. In my country we have extreme socialist parties and far right wing parties, i am neutral. However, in the EU we could only dream of politicians who actually gets things done, whether your like them or not. The media should be held responsible for not telling the truth, 90% of the people these days just read some kind of headliner on their Facebook timeline and take it for the truth. I don't know about the US but here at least 50% of the headliners we see on Facebook are full of errors or sometimes straight out lies, specially when the topic is right wing politics, Trump is considered a far right wing politician in the EU. Nice attempt on trying to read my though. I bet you felt superior for at least a few hours.
So again I asked for you to iterate specific examples from a specific article and you again fail to do so. I'm also confused, are you unable to read the Washington Post in the Netherlands? If I wanted to learn about events in the Netherlands I'd read a Dutch news source, why wouldn't you read US news sources to learn about US news? And you still haven't answered the question about what kind of per you are when it comes to ideas that don't comport with your worldview, which itself puts you in the third bucket, a sad place to be.
We actually have very little evidence he is a successful businessman. You should read into the fates of many of his properties. He's "fallen upwards". Lucky? Sure. Professional businessman? Not in the slightest. We don't even know his exact net worth because his team of lawyers is doing everything they can to hide his tax returns. For being a global-scale braggart he sure is doing a lot to hide his success... "real numbers"? Even fox news polls show a small majority are for impeachment, and an even larger majority are pro-inquiry. Drudge has even started running Trump-critical articles. Where does his money come from? Well we don't know, because unlike any president in history he won't release his tax returns, confirm he has removed himself from business interests, or any other thing an honorable, respectful president would do. He's having the G7 at his own property. Mar-A-Lago was refitted with top of the line security at our expense. Do you remember Carter and his peanut farm? That is how a MAN runs a presidency. Trump is fleecing America for all it's worth and here you are eating it up by the ladle full. He put his own family in his cabinet. Doesn't this sound more like a King than a President? I don't want a democrat to win (except maybe Yang, but his desire to make a social credit score system and take away guns is against my morals). But a democrat will win. At this point it is a near certainty. Do you remember Nixon? We are seeing it all over again. This is our watergate moment. If Bill "the best democrat on the planet" Clinton was impeached (bipartisan) for lying about a blowie, imagine what is in store for Trump in a few weeks when the inquiry begins. Until we solve the giant gap in the aisle and stop calling each other communists and fascists this level of head-in-the-sand will persist. You can't help everyone wake up, I guess. If you actually cared you'd care about the circus on both sides of the aisle in the house and senate. To be fair, I group WaPo up with The Daily Beast and The Young Turks in terms of news quality. It has a significant bias. Actual journalism is more or less dead, which is why I used Reuters when responding to @dozu888. It's about the only outfit with an iota of journalistic integrity left. WSJ is pretty good too if the first thing you do when you open the paper is throw away the opinion section.
we already know how the polls turned out for 2016.... so forget that; he won 2016 with less funding.. this year the RNC is receiving more than double the DNC.. and cash on hand is 53m vs. ~zero.. this is why I always ask people to ride the trump train for a couple of weeks to get a different perspective... the 'wake up' line can be applied on the opposite direction right? well - not much use to keep arguing, only a few month to settle the score..
So I think it's important to differentiate between "bias" and "lies". For example in the article I posted I think anyone would be hard pressed to find any "lies". You may think the article is biased in that it paints Trump in a poor light. I happen to think blatant violation of the emoluments clause by Trump paints Trump in a bad light and reporting instances of it is in no way biased. If we disagree (although we probably don't) that would be a difference of opinion, but not a case of "lies" by WaPo. I'm pretty sure we agree on that, just wanted to articulate it.
