Trump Trades..Someone is getting filthy rich

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by Rickshaw Man, Oct 17, 2019.

  1. I have never seen a sitting President game the markets like this one. His Twitter account is enabling him to move the markets at will. I remember not long ago, it was the FOMC that called the shots. Now Trump is the Shot Caller.

I don't see it as gaming... he is just using tweets as an outlet to get the message out to the average guys... how else would he do it... the media is fake.

and many like his straight forward messages.... the approval rating is there.

as for traders - why not take advantage of the volatility... those who complain probably are terrible traders to start with if they haven't yet seen the patterns.... after 3 years.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that the media is fake, it is however heavily manipulated.

People seem to forget that behind these media channels are companies and companies always have an hidden agenda and a certain management, so do media companies.

I am not from the US but 90% of the news articles i get to see here about Trump are at least full of mistakes if not just lies, every single one of them. People could know this by doing their own research, listening to his press conferences instead of taking an headliner the see on Facebook as the truth, ...

He does and does say a lot of stupid things and i don't often agree with him, but in my opinion media should be neutral, now they can write whatever they want whether it is true or not.

  5. Those trades smell "phony"....the timing was just so "perfect". Someone knew something about what Trump would be saying. I hope the CFTC launches an investigation.

So pick a random article and point out the specific mistakes or lies. Here, go ahead with this one which is from the Washington Post which is a favorite of consipiracy theorists with "hidden agendas" and "manipulation" so you should easily be able to find a dozen "mistakes" or "lies", please put them in a numbered list for us. Just keep in mind, you'll need a primary or otherwise reliable source showing otherwise for something to be a "mistake" or a "lie", and no, Brietbart, the guys you golf with, or your own opinion aren't a primary or reliable source! https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...1b32d6-ef52-11e9-89eb-ec56cd414732_story.html

    Reuters isn't fake?

A press release from the white house, like most normal presidents do, is usually how you do it. That way you have a team of PR people and professional writers clean up your message.

The saying goes better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as an idiot than open it and remove all doubt. Twitter is just a method for Trump to sabotage himself. It has been a true boon to the establishment Democrats and you can be sure it will come up frequently in the inquiry.

Cletus and Clyde don't use Twitter and they get most of their news from fake news pundits like Rush and Hannity. You're sabotaging your own argument.

reuters? I don't know... but twitter isn't mutually exclusive with anything.

idiot? not a word to describe someone successful in biz/tv/politics.... it's a subjective term.. but look at the real numbers... approve rating good... fund raising is blowing the dems out of the water.

    can't argue with success.

I don't post much this type of stuff anymore, because the 2020 election is around the corner.... a massive landslide will settle the scores...

and also you should see the Dems get a bit tame after 2020 because there is not another re-election.

I was reading "90% of the news articles i get to see here about Trump are at least full of mistakes if not just lies, every single one of them.". Your words, not mine. Since "every single one of them" contain these "mistakes if not just lies", then when I pick one you should easily be able to point these things you allege to be there out. It appears you can not.

The more enlightened folks in the world, when faced with information that doesn't comport with their worldview, will question both the information and their world view. And then there are the folks who decide that any information that doesn't comport with their worldview is in error. Finally are the folks that then refuse to even listen to anything that disconfirms their worldview. Which one are you? I'll point out that I actively asked you to disconfirm my worldview that media is generally accurate and if they publish "lies" they're retracted when discovered.
