Oh but it will. Time my friend, takes time. You can’t turn the Titanic on a dime. After Mr T wins the election with a landslide we shall see some great things happen the next 4 years.

Tariff is one route but it's not enough. There needs to be a comprehensive, well-thought-out long-term plan to turn the West around to be well-positioned again in economic development.

I wonder how many people that support Trump, stopped buying products made in China and bought a similar product made in the US at a much higher price. I think almost nobody. So they shout "Make America great again" and at the same time behave just opposite.

Most people have that kind of behavior. It is called the NIMBY ( not in my backyard) phenomen.

    Examples:
Most people agree with should do something against pollution. But they don't want to give up fuel guzzling SUV or flying short distance with planes. Other people should do that but they not.

People agree to install more green energy installations, but they protest if a windmill is instaaled close to their neigbourhood. Other people should do that but they not.

Ivanka Trump is/was selling a lot of cheap Made in China stuff. Nobody should do that according to Trump, but Ivanka thinks:wtf:ther people should do that.

Very few things that can be achieved in 8 years cannot be achieved in 4 years. However, destroying things is relatively easy to do in short order. Trump has dismantled or destroyed so much, and some it came back to haunt him ( like closing the center for dealing with viruses ).

So if Trump builds 5 miles of wall in 4 years, does that mean he'll do 11 miles in 8 years ?

Tariffs were never going to work as Trump described it was a failed strategy from the Great Depression that exasperated the damage.

No he will probably do 30 miles since “practice makes perfect”.

Trump has dismantled things that needed dismantling. Globalist would of course disagree.

Your profile says you're from Ireland, but you seem to like to disparage Americans. Your demagoguery aside, the fact is that both parties have been lining their pockets with loads of private equity and Wall Street cash for decades now. The 2020 Democratic Party is at present in the back pocket of every Wall Street Bank and Silicon Valley behemoth there is - don't take my word for it, google the donor list. Reads like NASDAQ and the Banking Sector ETF had a love child. The Democratic Party is just as corporatist and beholden to moneyed interests as the Republican Party - and that fact is what propelled the Bernie Sanders movement (and Andrew Yang, for that matter). It's just a revolving door. They're all getting greased. And Joe Biden knows how to take care of his donors - just ask the credit card companies.

Do you honestly think that Joe Biden is going to walk back the tariffs on China without getting something in return? Is Joe going to cozy up to China and flat out ignore their manifold human rights abuses? China was going to get confronted whether it was Orange Man or HRC sitting in the oval office. And we know what their leadership is - a wolf in wolf's clothing. Just ask China's neighbors.

Fools keep thinking that Joe Biden is going to fix everything that took decades to destroy. Same idiots take as gospel that the Green New Deal is going to create millions of new jobs and that all the displaced energy sector coal, oil, and natural gas workers are going to magically transition into jobs installing solar panels and wind turbines. Right. Sure.
