You are going to wait a long time since both parties equally are responsible for this pile of shiat.

It would be better if everyone could direct their outrage at Congress as a whole and contact their local representatives to complain — rather than making this about blaming the other party.

No. Democrats passed the HEROs act almost a year ago, I believe. That was a stand alone Covid relief bill with generous stimulus free of pork. Senate republicans sat on it.

Democrats and to be fair a few Republicans in the senate fought for bigger stimulus payment but lost to republicans take it or leave it because Republicans began pushing to limit the fed from loaning to state and locals.

These bills were purposefully jammed together by Senate Republicans.

There is a lot of outrage because the foreign aid in the omnibus bill getting signed into law with Covid relief. But again that is not democrats.

Thats what Mitch calls gunboat bi-bartisan.

Oh the world is NOT FAIR!!!

Minds stuck in teenager development. Still a bit of the child's black and white in there.

The good guys always lose to the bad guys in reality when the bad guys have the numbers which for now, they do so Mitch gets his pork & the Dems get some stuff too.

They will make it veto-proof and Trump will increase his victim-hood.

  6. So you are seeing some people expressing what is right for the country versus a party.

I'm just sitting here waiting for your ilk to do that.

It is true that there is wall to wall republican crap in there along with the dem pork but that is because the dems would not agree to a covid-only bill and that the dems were turning this into a "get in for anything you want bill."

We’ll see. This is a fight between Senate Republicans and Trump. Democrats are already where Trump is and have been for quite some time.

As I said before, Trump should have been doing his job and twisting arms in the senate if he really wanted a cleaner bigger stimulus. That would have been what is right for the country.

  8. Surely you jest.

This thing was hung up for months because the democrats did not want to provide covid relief unless Trump and the Republicans agreed to legislation that paid off all the drunken sailor state's public debt from the last 40 years. That being just one example among an avalanche of unrelated funding. Trump and the Dems were NEVER in the same place on that.

Maybe if you define "for some time" to mean a few days and agreement on the 2000 versus 600 thingy.

Contained in the bill is a clause preventing Trump from invoking The Insurrection Act.

For clarity, and it’s hard to be clear because the omnibus and Covid Bill were joined and passed together, much of this “foreign spending“ is exactly what the White House requested new in the budget.

Now to Covid, the state and local funding certainly was a sticking point and it’s fair to say so but Democrats were certainly there in terms of stimulus, as they are now.
