Mexico is so heavily dependent on USA, they can go bankrupt if they do not negotiate. Because their trade deficit relatively to their size of their country is much bigger than compared to the USA. Mexico has no choice than to except what the USA dictates them. That is reality, I think.
You mean like they paid for Trump's glorious Wall ? You know, the one that remains incomplete and was mainly renovated with a short run of new length. There is a stark example between what Trump says he will accomplish and the reality 4 years later. Mexico will do as it pleases as will Panama, Denmark, Canada, ... . Sounds like Trump wants to attack the auto sector in Canada and Mexico. Thing is, the big manufacturers in the US have a supply chain involving all three countries that cannot be easily changed, and in fact prices will go up a lot if Trump carries forward. That opens up selling opportunities for Toyota/Honda etc and they are already winning that battle in Canada. I bought a Toyota after buying American my other 4 cars. Not only did I get a more reliable vehicle, I got to do a little fk you to the protectionism Trump brought in term one.
Correct they have no choice but its not lol because they might go bankrupt. Fack you get that from - fatRump speech?
In reality, the Mexicans are not worried about the official trade deficit. If the Americans stop buying drugs from the Mexicans, then it would be a very serious problem for the Mexicans. Drugs are tax-free and tariff-free.
Prepare for huge US trade changes as Trump goes America First You can be sure that big changes are coming as far as US trade is concerned, even if we didn't get any new tariffs on President Trump's first day in office. A comprehensive investigation into US trade relationships was initiated via a memorandum. China, Canada, and Mexico are clearly in the immediate firing line. Here's what to expect That said, we expect the US administration to use targeted tariffs to gain concessions, possibly delaying implementation, as tariffs will negatively impact US consumers and the economy. Despite disruptions, trade in goods is projected to grow by 2.5% year-over-year in 2025, driven by heavy front-loading in the first quarter and increased intra-continental trade throughout the year https://think.ing.com/articles/america-first-trade-policy-trump-tariffs-january-inauguration/
Hurry hurry Mr Trump get going with the tariffs. Make the USA great again. Get the money and keep the jobs in USA.
Putin used to turn on and off the NG valves every now and then. He must be happy playing with the valves. That gave NG traders tons of trading opportunities. Trump can also increase and decrease tariffs every now and then. It should be fun.
