I wasn't aware that Obama had a son. Most adult U.S citizens believe the same laws should apply equally to all of us, including Trump and Obama, consistent with our U.S. Constitution.. And some of us, including myself, don't believe prosecution for violation of civil and criminal laws by the President should wait until the President is out of office. We do have Courts to rule whether charges are frivolous or substantive. And we do have a Vice President who can take over if necessary.

  4. If only your view mattered.

Maybe you can do your usual routine which is to whine about why Canadian law should apply to the United States. That's important too.

You are guaranteed under the laws of the United States to keep your tax returns private. Only the IRS has a right to see your tax returns if they are auditing it. If someone suspects you are guilty of any corrupt act, they should get a subpoena ordered by the courts. Democrats in the House cannot just use their investigative powers without following the law. I believe President Donald Trump will win this ruling which is needed to end this BS. Joe Biden and his son's actions in Ukraine where monies changed hands or Hillary Clinton getting millions from the Russians or her deleting 30,000 e-mails were not even investigated? James Comey absolved Hillary Clinton before he even interviewed her? On what planet is that not even an abuse of power at a minimum? The investigations of President Donald Trump and General Michael Flynn are criminal at the highest levels but, you know swamp creatures protect each other preventing justice on that end.

True. We are all waiting, waiting , waiting....... Let us us know when it starts, will you please.

Problem for you folks is that by now the entire country knows what can be done with Photoshop, about Russian interference, and the >3000 bogus social media accounts last time around.

That's the big problem demagogues have in trying to operate in an open society where there is an independent press. Every successful demagogue-nationalist in history had to get control of the press first thing -- Franco, Hitler, Mussolini... on down the line. If Trump wants to win this election he's going to have to figure a way to shut up the New York Times and the Washington Post -- probably can't get away with just storming their offices and arresting everyone.

This is going to require real creativity on his part, and, so far, he's been lacking in that department -- building a wall between Mexico and the United States, that's not creative, that's just stupid!; saying Mexico will pay for it, that's not creative, but figuring out how to get Mexico to pay for it, now that would be creative! Trump couldn't even figure out how to weasel out of the Trump University Fraud, or get Barbara Underwood off his fat, pink, Jackass ass -- he ended up being barred for life from serving on Boards of non-profits in NY..:D.

Lying to Investors, Banks, Courts and the IRS, is not creative. It's the sort of dull minded stuff that one expects from low IQ Mobsters. Suggesting that there might be something like Lysol we could inject that would just kill all the Covid virus is not creative, it's juvenile, nor is saying that we wouldn't have all these Covid cases if we didn't test; that borders on mental retardation.

And speaking of retardation, the fact that you guys don't realize your President is an imbecile and Jackass suggests y'all may not be the sharpest tools in the woodshed.

You've got whining and enlightening discourse confused. But please don't try to correct yourself.

That could happen. Anyway, let's suppose it could. In fact it seems quite probable Trump would do something crazy to prevent their release. But do you think McConnell would go along with Trump defying the Supreme Court? I kinda doubt that. And without McConnell, Trump is road kill.

Historical note: McConnell and his lovely wife bring to mind the last Couple that ended up doing a "real job" on our nation: Phil Gramm and his lovely wife Wendy. [IMG]

[IMG] Very much reminds of the wonderful McConnell Duo.

  9. Trump is not going to lose before the Court, but if he did, he is not in a position to with-hold the tax records. The records reside with his accounting firm and the order would be upon the accounting firm to present them to House counsel. The accounting firm has taken the position that they will follow whatever the court order is and are taking no position. They would be in deep doo-doo if they released them without a court order though. The order would not come from the Supreme Court, it would be remanded down to the lower court for them to issue an order consistent with the Supreme Court's ruling.

So the bad news for you is that Trump is not going to lose at the Supreme Court.

But the good news for you is that in the unlikely event that he does, his ability to withhold records that are not in his possession is slim to none.

Well, we'll see. Considering that "Trump is not going to lose before the Court," aren't you wasting a lot of time speculating about what you've assured us is not going to happen?
