  2. I see you want to talk more about racism than free political speech. To be fair, there is at least a indirect connection. Ok, I’ll play, as our arguments and counter-arguments will lead close to free speech and political expression equality for all.

Ok, let’s discuss Racism 2021: Effective policy in the Information Age. Although maybe we should really be calling this the AI Age. I’m sure we’ve heard various arguments on the subject of racism with differences often coming up on how much government should intervene. As an early heads up, AI may provide some interesting and controversial takes on appropriate remedies for racism. More on that in later posts.

But first, let’s sum up our perceptions of the state of racism in the United States:

    1. Racism does still exist in the United States, but it is not nearly as prevalent as in generations past.

    2. The cost to root out the last tiny bastions of racism may more than it is worth if the attempted methods of rooting it out alienates half the country. For example, if people of a certain sex, political class, sexual orientation, immigrant status, or race are afforded certain rights and privileges such as free education and healthcare for new immigrants or freedom to speak politics without fear of retribution while the non-protected class does not enjoy the same benefits, especially if the denied class of people are paying for these benefits through raised taxes, they will likely feel disenfranchised and mistrustful of our government, like minorities did in the 1960’s and before. In other words, Democrats seem to be seeking a solution that recognizes certain classes of people deserve preferential treatment over another class, i.e. racism and or discrimination.

    3. Enough humoring the Democrats. In reality, Democrats are using the increasingly antiquated racism card for political gain. We know this to be true because if Democrats really cared about minorities in the inner cities, inner cities that have been politically controlled politically at least on the local level by Democrats from decades to over a century, progress would have been made. Democrats can find a way to overcome a popular, 74,000,000 vote getting incumbent President, yet can’t take care of their own, in one case, Baltimore, MD, in a 150 years of political control? Again, the Democrats merely play the racism card to gain votes, not actually help their constituents.

    4. I was born and raised in a inner city. Manhattan, by a single mother, to be exact. I have also seen how others in other areas live and treat each other. There is a distinct, “Mentality of the poor” or “Attitude” that must be addressed before school or available social programs will have a positive effect on most people, increasing their upward mobility and positive contribution to society. Tremendous human potential is untapped in inner cities because of the suppressive effects of single family parenting and ineffective public schools. As a personal example, in the 2nd or 3rd grade, at the age of 8, I tried to teach my teacher basic physics as learned from Isaac Asimov’s Intelligent Man’s Guide to Science after an argument over alchemy and the ability of ours to create new elements. I guess I was not a good teacher because I couldn’t motivate my student to learn anything new!

There are several aspects to the “Poor mentality” that must be understood. One is pride, ironically, often causes the afflicted to refuse help. You see, accepting help from another was considered an admission that one was not running their life well, even though it is obviously the case. Another aspect is deep mistrust of the system and others, including those directly offering help. The final major aspect of the “Poor mentality” is self blame, even in situations where it is unwarranted. This manifests into thinking along the lines of “I don’t deserve to be happy or successful”. Such negative thinking creates a negative feedback loop that often locks in people into poverty for life. There are also higher rates of depression, substance abuse, and crime for inner city folks to contend with.

Once dysfunctional thoughts and actions take hold, it takes years of deprogramming to get back to “Normal”. So while I may beat up the Democrats, although officially, I am one too, the challenges of the inner cities are seemingly on the order of getting someone to the moon. By the way, as a White minority growing up, while I was subjected to racism, although racism should not be considered the only cause of “Poor mentality”.

Perhaps if we all start looking at people as people instead of races and sexes for political points, focus on true underlying causes of poverty, maybe we’ll get closer to actually solving problems that will result in a better society for all.

The question is, is our current batch of politicians really about solving problems or are they really about creating or maintaining problems for the purpose of increasing their influence, power, and income?

    Your turn.

  7. LOL, you are such a shitty liar! You expressed the emotion of "sadness" on twitter in response to the news that Steve Schmidt left the Lincoln Project. Your investment of time in-terms of tweeting and retweeting and publicly sharing your emotions on the Lincoln project means you "give a shit". Either you lied here or you lied there. Either way, you are a liar.

    Now go cry more!

racism is less prevalent because laws made it less prevalent. You think slavery would go away and African America’s would be able to vote without laws and constitutional amendments pushing it?

You brought up that you wouldn’t rent to a protected class only because they were a protected class. I didn’t change that topic.

Good for you that you got out. I personally believe that there should be a permanent underclass. You can’t have a wealthy class without an underclass. This is the one good agenda the republicans are pursuing (in their long game).

there are many stats that show racism is still pretty strong. I’m sure your black friends saw things you didn’t. Rutgers did a study a few months back that black business owners who were more qualified than white business owners were discouraged from applying for ppp.
