you're basically advocating for "shut up and dribble" and "you can protest, but no, not like that".

I live in North Carolina. A state with many military bases and veterans. While you personally believe kneeling for the national anthem does not offend you --- this does not hold true for most of the military veterans and active serving members I interact with. This includes military veterans and personnel of every race and background. Keep in mind that I live in an area where a number of bars refused to show NFL games for a while due to the kneeling controversy.

Back to the announcer -- I have already given my opinion that he should be terminated ... and provided the reasons why within context of standard corporate HR & legal processes.

The reason is not because protestors aren't protesting the way they are being told to protest; it's because those in power aren't timely addressing social justice issues, despite being aware of them.

Here's how you sound, "When they protest in the way we tell them to, only then will we address police brutality."

Again, whenever you're ready to debate to root of the problem, let us know.

Most Americans support athletes speaking out, say anthem protests are appropriate, Post poll finds

The results underscore an ongoing shift in the way much of the country views the anthem protests that shook the NFL four years ago when quarterback Colin Kaepernick first took a knee to protest police brutality and systemic racism. Dozens of players across the league followed his lead, upsetting large factions of fans and stoking a political fight about the role of athletes. Even two years after Kaepernick first knelt, a 2018 NBC-Wall Street Journal poll found that 54 percent of registered voters felt professional football players kneeling in protest was inappropriate and 43 percent felt it was appropriate.

So 42% find this form of protest unacceptable according to the most recent CBS poll I have seen. Offending 42% of your audience is not very wise.

  8. Yeah you quoted and rticle from 4 yeas ago but left out this part of the article conveniently.....

But some players, including former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva of the Pittsburgh Steelers, say disrespecting the troops was never the intent and the gesture shouldn’t be taken that way.

“I take no offense,” said Villanueva, who stood Sunday for the anthem as his team waited in the tunnel. “I don’t think veterans at the end of the day take any offense,” he added Monday. “They actually signed up and fought so that somebody could take a knee and protest peacefully whatever it is that their hearts desire.”

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America — which represents many of the youngest veterans — supports tolerance for differing perspectives.

“We have seen that IAVA’s Post-9/11 veterans have opinions all across the spectrum on this issue,” its statement said. “Our members’ opinions, just like our members themselves, are very diverse. We hope all their voices are heard and respected as much as those of any professional athlete or politician.”

  9. Most people POLLED.... you all should stop using polls...

Also the poll comes up with 42%.... anyone so offended to turn off the TV was not a real fan anyway and probably is one of those hypocrites that wants people to shut up and stop bothering them with social issues..... real American of them huh...

I think the NFL is going to be alright with you as a fan...
