  3. Not only did they try to get into the United States first, they may have just spent years in the U.S. getting their degree. We educate the world and then boot them out because they don't fit into our quota but then let millions in without regard to quota, law, education, ability to support themselves and so on.

    Canada has a merit based system, or at least that is part of the formula, but merit based is considered to be racist in America now. Of course Canada is getting caught up in its own goofiness too. Quebec is a "nation within a country" per the Meech-Lake Accord whatever the frig that means, and don't ask them because they don't know either. So Quebec gets to set its own immigration policy. In earlier years, the goal in Quebec was to give preference to people from French speaking countries and to require all new immigrants to learn French. That was one of the deals cut to quash the separatist movement- which actually worked. Now the lefty Quebecois are considered to be racist pigs because promoting the French culture works discriminates muslims wanting to come. Laissez les bon temps rouler! But then there is the argument that Quebec wants to be like France and France is falling to the islamists so why should Quebec not go there too. Sigh, it's hard to be a lefty sometimes.

    Yes, the one thing that is clear in Canada is that immigration is very much a merit based system - including emphasis on needed skills in Canada. There are also requirements that immigrants must be able to support themselves and will not be a burden on the social welfare system.

    Canada is also very tough on deporting illegal immigrants, and rejecting people at the border who they believe may stay on illegally.

    We should be more like Canada in regards to immigration.

    I’m sensitive to stupidity and ignorance.

    Immigrants and refugees are not a major problem. We can adjust our immigration policies and refugee policies without issue. I actually don’t mind bringing in more engineers and doctors but don’t get mad when they’re rich and you’re not later in life.

    What bothers me is the whole “shit hole” argument and the demonization and criminalization of immigrants. That stuff appeals to morons who are going to lose to lose in life regardless of immigrants or not. I guess I have an aversion to losers picking on minorities and immigrants.

  6. Didn't used to be that way.

    Our "immigration policy" was to vet applicants as to their desirability to contribute to America, our culture and work ethic, economy and to "embrace America"... IOW... assimilate into our culture. And that was fine.

    More recently, the politicos don't bother vetting immigrants/invaders... they're only seen as "potential political pawns".. ie, "DemoCrap voters"... so no vetting necessary.... no matter how uneducated, ideologically opposed, parasitically tit-sucking on US taxpayers, disease ridden, etc.

    The DemoCraps don't care if America is destroyed via unfettered immigration... they only care about "ruling the country"... even if they have to burn it all down just to rule over the ashes.

  7. True dat. Venezuela is a great example. Liberalism is a self-destructing ideology disguised in the shadows of 'social good'....

  8. And at the same time, Canada needs to do more to accept refugees where that may be appropriate. There tends to be an attitude that if something happens in central or south America that that is more our responsibility than Canada's because we are the first stable stop.

    Frig that. For example, we have offered shelter and safety to thousands of Haitians. Normally, one would think that we have done a good thing but now we are demons again for plans to deport them. How bout we all work together. If Canada values French speaking immigrants, well then, think of Haitian refugees and take them in. Didn't Baby Justin stand up and beat his chest and say that unlike the Americans, Canada will welcome anyone from anywhere? Go for it baby. Justins father goes down to Cuba and gets kissy faced with Castro and Castro gets kissy faced with his wife Margaret, and crows about how groovy the Cubans and communism are, but when it came time for the mariana(sp) boatlift where castro literally took every mental patient and prisoner in the country and let them go, did he send them up to Canada, nope- he did not. think no further than the good old usa.

    Canada= Good

    America - Bad

    So, staple a green card to every graduate degree if that’s what you want.

    We need more immigrants, not less.
