Trump's Claim: Joe Biden “is letting millions of people from jails, from prisons, from insane asylums, from mental institutions, drug dealers pour in.” Trump’s ridiculous claim that “millions” of immigrants came illegally from jails, mental facilities https://www.politifact.com/factchec...heck-trumps-ridiculous-claim-that-millions-o/ Immigration officials arrested about 103,700 criminal noncitizens from fiscal year 2021 to 2024 U.S. Customs and Border Protection data shows. Not everyone was let in. The data reflects the people that the federal government is aware of, but it is not exhaustive. Experts said despite the data’s limitations, there is no evidence to support Trump’s repeated statements that "millions" of immigrants in the country illegally came from jails, prisons or mental institutions.
Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee: You don't think someone would do that, do you? Just go on the internet and lie? Similar to the MAGA's on ET -- this clown in Tennessee believes everything he reads on the Internet. 'But I saw it on the internet': Republican mocked after CNN anchor's brutal fact-check https://www.rawstory.com/trump-conspiracy-2669170336/ A Republican senator received a real-time fact-check from a CNN anchor as he tried to breathe oxygen into a racist conspiracy theory promoted by former President Donald Trump at the debate Tuesday night. "In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats," Trump said, repeating a theory previously floated by running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, that Haitian immigrants are abducting pets and eating them in the Ohio city. "They're eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what's happening in our country." Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee joined CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins on Wednesday night to discuss the debate, telling her that not only did he think Trump won the debate — contrary to what many pundits and experts have said — but that the MAGA leader was "assaulted with all kinds of lies and misinformation." When Collins asked Hagerty if Trump ought to have avoided the baseless conspiracy theory at the debate, Hagerty appeared to suggest there may be some "evidence." "You talk about evidence, I've heard conflicting reports — there's conflicting evidence. There's a lot of information on the internet that this is happening," he said. "But here's the real problem —" The senator couldn't finish the sentence before Collins interjected. "Yeah but no real credible evidence," she said, citing people living in the city. Not to be deterred, Hagerty doubled down. "In Springfield, Ohio, the governor is sending in state troopers and millions of dollars to deal with the problem that's happening across America," he said, pointing to millions of immigrants that he and the GOP have said have flooded over the U.S.-Mexico border. Hagerty pointed to hospital emergency rooms and schools trying to find teachers who can teach English as a second language. "We have these problems in my home state of Tennessee," he said, blaming a flood of migrants. While Collins acknowledged school systems and hospital systems have reported being "overwhelmed," CNN hasn't heard from a single city official in Springfield that Haitian immigrants are abducting pets. But Hagerty was unconvinced and again dug into the claim. "City officials aren't the only source," he said. "There are plenty of people saying this is happening. So I think this just needs to be verified." "We talked to multiple people there," insisted Collins, including the police commissioner and others who said, "There's just no evidence of it." She later added that while immigration is a "fair point," a "false claim is what people have issue with." Hagerty's claim was met with mockery online from critics on X. "'But I saw it on the internet' has to be the dumbest excuse for pushing a debunked racist conspiracy theory," wrote Kelsie Taggart, digital media director for the Democratic PAC American Bridge. "Republicans need to grow a spine (and brain.)" "The Party of Lincoln and Reagan has been reduced to 'I saw something online,'" jabbed prominent national security attorney Bradley P. Moss. In a separate post, Moss rhetorically asked Hagerty, "have you seen these wild videos on the internet that prove Trump wasn’t actually shot but rather that he staged the entire thing? I know we have official reports from the FBI and Secret Service but this cool YouTube video narrated by a guy who says he knows classified things totally shows that it was all staged. I look forward to you looking into this because, hey, it’s on the internet." "When it comes to daffy senatorial caucuses, don't sleep on Tennessee," wrote journalist Charles P. Pierce. "That's a low pair that'll bust you." "Kaitlan Collins refuting Sen. Bill Hagerty's (R-TN) assertion that pets are being kidnapped and eaten. Watch both videos. Hagerty also told her he watched the debate 'very carefully' and thought Trump won. This is a sitting senator," said investigative journalist Victoria Brownworth. Demented Don continues spewing bullshiat after being soundly schooled as a dunce in the debate. Trump spreads baseless claims about Harris’s debate performance https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...about-harris-s-debate-performance/ar-AA1qzMnb (Washington Post) - Republican nominee Donald Trump spent his second rally since Tuesday’s debate promoting false online accusations trying to discredit Vice President Kamala Harris’s performance, alongside baseless allegations of chicanery in the reporting of crime statistics and jobs data. “She can’t talk,” Trump told a crowd of thousands in Las Vegas on Friday, three nights after facing Harris for the first time, claiming victory and saying he would not agree to another debate. He asked if Harris had received the questions in advance, picking up on internet rumors that the host network, ABC News, has denied. Trump also referenced a Facebook post suggesting, without evidence, that Harris had audio devices in her earrings. “I hear she got the questions, and I also heard she had something in the ear,” Trump said. In almost 90 minutes of remarks, Trump alleged that similar plots against him had been foiled by insiders who exposed tampering with government statistics on jobs and crimes. Without evidence, he claimed a routine revision of economic data was an attempt to disadvantage his campaign. “Fortunately, we had a leaker or a whistleblower,” Trump said. “I don’t care which. I love that person. I’m not sure who it is.” “She can’t talk,” Trump told a crowd of thousands in Las Vegas on Friday, three nights after facing Harris for the first time, claiming victory and saying he would not agree to another debate. I love that person. I’m not sure who it is.” “Could you believe we have phone apps?” he said. “The cartels have apps where they call in so they know where to deposit their illegal people.” If elected, he pledged to deploy federal agencies such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement to implement large-scale deportations, including to “liberate” the Colorado city of Aurora that he falsely claimed was overrun by Venezuelan gangs. He also said Nevada, which does not border Mexico, was receiving more immigrants because Texas had tightened its border. “Can you believe I have to say this?” he said. “We are going to liberate parts of our country.” In Trump hands, a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report concluding that ICE had not issued court notices to 291,000 unaccompanied children became 325,000 migrant children lost to rape and murder. “They’re either gone or they’re in the service as slaves, sex slaves or slaves,” he said. He recited an anti-immigration parable about a snake that has been a fan favorite at his rallies since the 2016 campaign. And he gave a shout-out to Stephen Miller, his adviser who was the architect of separating migrant families at the border and has proposed using the military for mass deportations. “A brilliant young man who has always been with me no matter what, the good times, the bad times,” Trump said of Miller. He also praised Kash Patel, a former Pentagon aide who has called for prosecuting journalists if Trump wins a second term. Trump also called up celebrity guests including mixed martial artist Henry Cejudo, whose name he repeatedly struggled to pronounce but whose hair he complimented, and social media personality Bryce Hall, whom he called “young and handsome.” Of musician Nicky Jam, who is a man, Trump said, “she’s hot.” He also called up the YouTube personalities known as the Nelk Boys, one of whom criticized Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), for taxing Zyn brand nicotine pouches. Trump attacked Walz with the nickname “Tampon Tim” and falsely accused him of requiring tampons in boys’ bathrooms. Walz signed legislation that provided state-funded sanitary products in public school restrooms. Trump echoed his remarks at Tuesday’s debate by falsely accusing Walz of allowing abortions in the ninth month of pregnancy or even executing children after birth, which is not legal in any state. He also baselessly accused Democrats of wanting to raze Manhattan and build structures with no windows. Trump repeatedly ribbed, “We have a lot of time.” But hundreds of fans left within the first 30 minutes, many complaining that he had been late and that the sound quality was poor. Almost all of the standing crowd had left before the end.
Even this Moran knows Stinky is losing his talent for telling convincing lies. Trump is losing his talent for lying https://www.nj.com/opinion/2024/09/trump-is-losing-his-talent-for-lying-moran.html By Tom Moran | Star-Ledger Editorial Board Donald Trump has lied from the start, when he came down that golden escalator and claimed that Mexico was “sending” convicted rapists across the border. And he’s gotten away with it, mostly. Fact-checkers ding him over and over, but the bullets seem to bounce off him. Until now. He’s getting sloppy, telling more gargantuan lies. Democrats are killing babies after they are born. Haitian immigrants in Ohio are stealing dogs and cats from their owners and eating them. He “saved” Obamacare. Public schools are sending kids off for gender surgery without telling their parents. “Can you imagine you’re a parent and your son leaves the house and you say, ‘Jimmy, I love you so much, go have a good day in school,’ and your son comes back with a brutal operation?” he asked at a recent rally. “Can you even imagine this? What the hell is wrong with our country?” Some psychiatrists say he’s actually losing his mind, and to anyone who’s been following his ramblings lately, it certainly seems possible. This is not the 2016 Donald Trump. He’s aged. Disconnected thoughts come and go in a random torrent, which usually have little to do with the question he was asked. “If a patient presented to me with the verbal incoherence, tangential thinking, and repetitive speech that Trump now regularly demonstrates, I would almost certainly refer them for a rigorous neuropsychiatric evaluation to rule out a cognitive illness,” psychiatrist Richard Friedman wrote in the Atlantic Thursday, adding that Trump is showing symptoms of “a fundamental problem with an underlying cognitive process.” Back to lying. In the past, Trump’s lies were tougher to prove to the general public. Even the Big Lie about the 2020 election is based on dozens of bogus claims that are tough to knock down one-by-one. The courts heard each claim, and rejected them, but in the MAGA-verse, the courts are part of the conspiracy. That changed. Now, he’s telling whoppers that are easy to disprove. If babies were being killed after birth, that would constitute murder in every state, red and blue. If Haitians were stealing dogs and cats and eating them, doesn’t it follow that at least one or two pet owners might step forward? His claim to have “saved” Obamacare is ridiculous, given his repeated attempts to kill it that were front page news. And the gender surgery? Wouldn’t Jimmy’s parents have raised their hands? His other problem is that he’s making these claims before a bigger audience, including the 67 million people who watched the debate Tuesday. He’s not just retweeting lies on social media; he’s standing up before the country and proving himself to be a fool. I don’t know if Trump is losing his mind. But when President Biden rambled in his debate and said that he “beat Medicare” I slapped my forehead and concluded that he lacked the mental capacity to make the case against Trump. Now, the tables have turned, and then some. It seems clear, at least, that Trump has lost his touch when it comes to lying. And that’s a big deal because it so clearly exposes him as a lunatic. Even now, he’s sticking to the ugly stories about Haitian immigrants, and murdered babies, and mutilated children. Does that help explain why he’s chickening out of a second debate with Harris? Is he ready to double down on his crazy? The polls show that people have noticed, and that Trump is losing ground since the debate. Predictably, Trump says that’s not true. “Every Poll has us WINNING, in one case, 92-8, so why would I do a Rematch?” he wrote on social media. He was asked to name that poll, and of course he couldn’t. For the record, a CNN poll found Harris won by a 2-1 margin. YouGov gave Harris a win by 54 to 31 percent. Even Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post found Harris the winner by 50 to 29 percent. Ask yourself this: If Trump loses his touch on lying, what does he have left? Policy expertise?
