... you make things up things again

It is customary for all Presidents including even when Dotard himself passing on to the great Gold-Plated Toilet Bowl that awaits him.

Sorry if quoting the clown himself and 250 year tradition gets in the way of your reality. There is no - why can't it be raised between the hours of ... and ... :D

Trump is big on appearances especially when they occur during his special events...crowd size, military ships named after his political enemies docked in harbor at his special events, U.S. flag at half staff during his special event (e.g. inauguration), et cetera.

In contrast, other U.S. Presidents are respectful during their special events...respectful to others but not Trump because Trump is selfish and doesn't give a shit about others.

Simply, Trump doesn't give a shit about a long standing tradition of mourning for 30 days of a former U.S. President or current President that has died (e.g. assassination, old age, illness, et cetera) since 1954. He just doesn't understand the respect of the Oval Office or maybe he thinks that respect must only be shown when he's in office.

Yet, if it was Trump who had died (e.g. assassination, old age, illness, et cetera)...those in his inner circle, family, MAGA, and Trumpards would demand that 30 days of morning with the U.S. flags at half-staff.

I was too young to understand politics when Jimmy Carter was President but I did know my old man and mother respected the oval office as Republicans with a Democrat President because of his respect for Native Americans (my father) and the French Americans (my mother).

Yet, even as a kid, I do remember my parents talking about some differences between the United States and France and one of those differences was America's hyphenation (e.g. Native-Americans, French-Americans, Italian-Americans of it's ethnicity groups whereas in France...you're just French. All citizens of France are just French.

"It is the fundamental right of every American, as guaranteed by the first amendment of the Constitution, to worship as he or she pleases …This legislation sets forth the policy of the United States to protect and preserve the inherent right of American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut, and Native Hawaiian people to believe, express, and exercise their traditional religions."

As he signed into law the American Indian Religious Freedom Act after a conversation with the President of France.

    Jimmy Carter

France President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing statement to U.S. President Jimmy Carter...

"Mr. President, like all young Frenchmen of my age, on June 6 I heard the news of the landings over the radio. That news spread like wildfire across Paris—"They have landed." "They" were the Americans, the British, the Canadians, and the French, who, on five beaches, had come to give us back hope and freedom".

As stated at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial

Anyways, at my home in the United States, my next door neighbor is from a military family (82nd Airborne family) too and he has a flag pole on his property just like me (101st Airborne family). He lowered the U.S. flag on his flag pole and my flag pole at half staff because our country is mourning even for us who were too young to understand what these two world leaders talked about.

P.S. If you have a flag pole...remember that when you lower a flag to half-staff (half-mast), you must first hoist it to the very top of the flagpole before lowering it to half-staff (half-mast).

It was the first thing I learned in Kentucky at daycare/elementary school for kids of military families near Fort Campbell.

Also, I asked my father why do some of the other kids say half-mast (not half-staff)? He said it's most likely because they were born in another country and went to school in that country before coming to the United States to our school....foreign children tended to say half-mast or U.S. children in port cities.

This is an interesting change as Zuck sucks up to Trump. However if you read the proposed changes in detail it appears the Meta will not longer proactively fact-check posts using humans. It will possibly remove posts and restrict users if someone complains about the post. Meta will be following Twitter in using "community notes" which are generated by the community.

Meta will also be using automation (rather than humans) in its content moderation scheme. Meta's content automation has suffered issues for a long period of time; many time taking down posts and banning users for totally benign content.

Most critics panned the change -- "Meta’s announcement today is a retreat from any sane and safe approach to content moderation,” the group said in a statement, calling the changes “political pandering.”

Also noting that Meta is donating $1 million to Trump's inaugural fund as part of the Zuck's suck-up campaign.

Meta is getting rid of fact checkers. Zuckerberg acknowledged more harmful content will appear on the platforms now

And you thought Liz Cheney was going to run away with the election. You refer to her to as the next Abe Lincoln but you fail to mention how she lied to the American to start a war, cost the US taxpayer 4 trillion dollars and get nearly 1 million killed.

Imagine this guy who was lied to. Imagine having a Canadian celebrate one of the key liars.

You supported and continue to support the people who orchestrated this lie, so you bear some responsibility.

Meta's oversight board isn't happy about the Zuck's decision to end fact-checking. Wonder how they're gonna feel about his decision to fire them all.

Huge problems with axing fact-checkers, Meta oversight board says

Zuckerberg acknowledged more harmful content will appear

What does more harmful mean, based on their previous censorship, more harmful means posting about a COVID lab leak, mask theory, Hunter laptop...etc
