I really do wonder how many people (inside traders) are gaming this BS. "Yeah we're reaching a deal" "just kidding" "for realsies this time" "sike"
Wow look at this. Trump said if no progress is made that tariffs on Chinese imports will increase on October 15th!!! Does that mean that he is so sure of himself that a trade deal will be struck today???????? If there is no deal and they raise tariffs on October 15th I could easily predict a clean 3-5% sell off in a matter of days. If no progress is made in bilateral trade negotiations this week, Trump has said tariffs on Chinese imports will increase on October 15. The U.S.-China trade war has dragged on for more than a year. In that time, the U.S. has targeted billions of dollars worth of Chinese goods with tariffs. China has retaliated with levies of its own, sparking fears of slower global economic growth and weaker corporate earnings.
I wonder what time this meeting ends at today, hopefully markets are still open so everyone can trade on the news. Futures indicating a win win win for trade negotiators but if they miss their mark during trade hours this market will go green to red within seconds especially with all those computer generated algorithmic trading setups the market has today.
Can someone explain how in 2019 with all the technology we have there can be such confusion at a simple meeting as to what was said....how can reports come to two different conclusions when the only conclusion can be this way or tha wayyyy..... Trump told reporters on Thursday that talks between the two countries were going “really well.” His comments came after he tweeted that he would meet with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He at the White House on Friday. Trump’s tweet came hours after a deluge of trade-related headlines Wednesday night gave investors whiplash. Some reports indicated the talks were stalling or were yielding little fruit. Others, however, pointed toward some sort of deal being made that would involve holding off on higher U.S. tariffs against China.
