Marine Corps Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, said the mission, which he ordered to commence from Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Fla., began around 9 a.m. EST on Saturday. Offering new details of the raid, McKenzie spoke as reporters at the Pentagon were shown footage of the special operations team assaulting al-Baghdadi’s compound and the strikes on the facility afterward. A video shows the assault force’s arrival at the compound — described as an area not traditionally operated in by U.S. forces and roughly an hour flight from the U.S. staging base in Syria. Fighters from two locations can be seen gathering to fire on U.S. aircraft. Though the individuals were not assessed to be affiliated with al-Baghdadi, “they demonstrated a hostile intent against U.S. forces and were killed by two airstrikes from supporting helicopters,” McKenzie said as the strike was shown. The assault force can then be seen closing in on the compound, where they first removed the nonhostile inhabitants that surrendered, which included 11 children. “Despite the violent nature of the raid and the high-profile nature of this assault, every effort was made to avoid civilian casualties and to protect the children that we suspected would be at the compound,” McKenzie said.
Trump not getting the praise he thought he would get like when Obama got Bin Laden Trump probably went to the World Series game thinking he would get a heros welcome but got booed and chants of lock him up instead lol
Ah, so now we can believe Russia? I suppose we don't know if Bin Laden is dead either, since he was buried at sea. If he wasn't killed, why would they say it and risk him popping up again?
I've "admitted" that Trump lies many times before. In fact, I've said all sorts of unflattering things about Trump that I believe to be true - including that I would absolutely love for you democrats to put forth a decent, sane candidate I could vote for instead of Trump in the next election. You, on the other hand, will never criticize folks on the left for anything no matter how silly. We've gone over this many, many times. Here's a fun fact for you: Every politician lies. They all do. Regularly. Trump more than most. So to ask "what else has Trump lied about?" is akin to asking "what other lies were told by previous administrations that should have come out but haven't?" The sooner you admit this and free yourself from your partisan and biased bullshit, the better it will be for everyone.
nice whataboutism, let's try to focus on Trump though before we go down that rabbit hole of unsubstantiated accusation of other politicians who are not running the country. Yes, all politicians "over promise", yes every human being lies. Let's not kid ourselves and say Trump isn't prolific in this regard however.
You're so full of shit, dude. Its not "whataboutism" when someone points out that lying is a trait all politicians share. That's some lame ass defense that worms (like yourself) focus on when people point out how hypocritical they are. Of the two of us, I'm the only one (again) pointing out the failing of politicians on both sides and showing unbiased, non-partisan criticism whenever someone is deserved of said criticism. You want to focus on Trump lying? Fine - I don't have an issue with it. As I've said, the man is a serial liar. But don't run and hide and get all high and mighty when folks on your side of the aisle are shown to have the exact same behavior pattern.
That's because you're trying to save face for having made a horrible decision for voting in Trump. You were conned, you'll refuse to admit it, and you expect me to lap up your bullshit of "both sides" are the same. Sorry, but I ain't having it. You've decided to walk that plank, and have to live with it. Basically you want to ingratiate yourself back again into polite society by painting everyone as a serial liar. Now back on topic, if you're willing to live w/a serial liar like Trump, how far will your fealty go? To what extent of damage will you allow's Trump's lies go? Do they have to be criminal lies, or hiding criminal behavior is enough for you?
Do you even read the posts of people you throw shit at? Let me try to break this down so that someone even at your fucking dunce level can understand: I do not regret voting for Trump. At all. Zero regrets. The choice was between Hillary and Trump, and I still believe - 110% - that I made the right decision with two shitty choices. Now, is that clear? Hopefully you've grasped that concept because I'm going to move into the next part which is a bit more complex, but do try to keep up. Even though I don't regret voting for Trump, I can still acknowledge when the man makes mistakes, or lies, or does something wrong, inconsistent with what he promised, or has a scandal of some kind. In other words, I'm not blind to my partisanship so that I cannot admit flaws in the candidate I supported (note past tense). Do you need me to put this into a coloring book to make it a concept you can get a hold of? Because I'm really not that good of an artist. Oh, and here's the kicker: If you guys can't put anyone better than Trump forward, guess fucking what? I'm voting for him again because there's no other option. So instead of focusing all your venom and drivel on Trump, why don't you try to get your collective heads out of your collective asses and put forth a contender to take him out in the next election? I mean, it shouldn't be all that difficult, right?? If it is proven criminal behavior (you and your ilk seem to have real problems with the concept of proof vs. speculation) then I am all for removing the man from office and incarceration (depending on the crime severity). But you still haven't proven anything. And again, if you are so quick to dismiss and forgive folks like Biden for similar - even more opaque - transgressions, how can I ever consider you a fair source of whether or not Trump is actually guilty of something?
