Is my sense of global immigration patterns wrong? When one wishes to immigrate to another country, is it not like casting a vote in favor of that country? Does not the U.S. receive a great number of people each year who are looking to create a better life for their families, such as personal safety, reliable food, clean water, employment opportunities, and an free, albeit mediocre at best, education system?
Those 2 choices put you way over your skis.. can we interest you in a bit less classy but a go-getter- snaggle tooth blonde who goes by Kelly Anne? or a plumper- huskier brunette who goes by Sarah?
I have a lot of family in the US, I've been to 30 states backpacking in my younger days. It is nice.. but.. Short of a few blues clubs, I guess several places to eat.. it is just too easy and fat? Money everywhere and easy to access but also people trying to game/use you. One of my younger cousins (~25) for example was taking in over 150k from a mobile knife sharpening business. Apparently there are a lot of hotels where the chefs would rather pay someone else. That seems just too pampered to me. It is a big world, the US is a nice part of it however Americans have a VERY distorted view of the rest of the world. Soft (my god so weak and frightened) and entitled to boot. Ordinary people worth spending time with few and far between, more like talking to children than adults. Nice, always nice but... meh.. Also the poor, are very poor (in relative terms) and often in a bad way. As Robbie Coltrain said (best recollection) When you are rich, American is the best place in the world and when you are poor, it can be just like being in hell. There are many talented people of course but I like when an ordinary man or woman can surprise me. Never happens to me there.
We cant all be winners like you doing drive-bys on the internet all day, you must live an incredibly succesful life.
I learned from the best, if you and your crowd would stop with the multiple alias and come clean, so will I.
Agree with you. I love going to British Columbia. The people are very nice and there is so much wildlife running around. I happened to see a TV show up there. It was positive, offered good life advise, and was entertaining. The T.V. shows in the United States tend to either have too much violence or try to elevate disfunctional behaviour. As a four year old, I visited Mexico with my mom. I remember the kids playing a trick with me. They said to try this, to which I agreed to reluctantly. It was hot sauce and I acted like like was not hot to perserve face. They laughed good naturedly and offered me bread and water. When we got back to the States, I overheard my mom talking with friends saying she could believe how well I and the children communicated together, given we spoke different languages. I said to her “you mean they spoke a different language?” I really did not know. It is too bad as adults some of us treat another so badly. My support for Trump does not imply I support the Republicans. During the Snowden days, Before Snowden became a household name, one could search wikipedia.org and come up with some amazing things. It was like I was interactively being fed information, depending how I did my search. Although this information was very specific with naming names, locations and operations, I dared not save it. There are very dark forces out there in U.S. politics that have no problem toppling regimes deemed unsupportive, no matter was the human cost is. My conclusion is there the are also active WWII remnents of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union playing their games as well. Balance of power really appears to be best as it tends to limit the more extreme desires of a particular party. I know is a Cuban refugee who is a chess champion and fellow poker player. Although he has violated some U.S. laws to help make ends meet, he would be considered a good friend. He does not have much, but what he does have, he would give to you. He is one of the few people I know that my back is covered no matter what. Defintely agree with you there are many quality people out there outside the United States. Perhaps even more so from “Shithole” countries. The question is, what obligation, if any does the United States have to let them in? What obligation does the U.S. government have to its current citizens? If we blow up a country, should we be obligated to take in its refugees? It is a tough issue. Balance and some sort of selection criteria appears to be key.
I noticed that almost all the liberals hide their Elitetrader profiles whereas alot of the conservatives show theirs. Wonder if this may provide some sort of insight into the mentalities of our politics section participates.
