If you want to argue that the US has imperial overreach I'd be happy to agree. That is (or at least was) a benchmark leftwing position.
There's many ways and positive aspects that should be considered that help offset or justify the cost of building a fence and securing our border. However ignoring the obvious and sidestepping the issue is another benchmark leftwing position.
Clinging to reasons to shriek, no matter how unsupported by evidence they are, is a typical rightwing behavior. Fear unifies. Even fake fear.
Yes, there is no problem with people (who they are we have no idea?) illegally crossing our borders by the thousands, actually hundreds of thousands......that's your position? Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez had been deported how many times only to illegally cross back over a wide open border? And then to be shielded by the City of San Francisco..... Nope no problem there??? Keep on living in denial
Sure. Just no new taxes, and in fact cut government spending. I know, I know, spending is too high and too wasteful now on some things, so if we simply cut those we'll have the money to spend on our pet problem. Edit: by the way, none of these problems are ever truly solved (well, maybe smallpox), they're just mitigated.
