Imo, The Apprentice, this was a very generous offering of his time to educate many people into the real world of business. Although he was paid and reaped many benefits from The Apprentice, lessor and bigger success's didn't even come close to matching the business lesson people derived from his show.

Government is not a business. It should not be viewed as a for profit enterprise that favors relationships that enrich the operators of a government entity, even though it sadly does. On the flip side, Can you imagine the response of people if a former congressman or Cabinet member claimed he could run a Fortune 500 company simply on the basis of having been a legislator or member of the exec branch? However, if successful business experience were to be dominant factor in choosing a candidate, then Trump seems to fail that test. Many of his enterprises have failed, costing investors and lenders billions of dollars. Trump Airlines. Remember that? He bought the Eastern shuttle for 300 million and drove it quickly into disaster. Trump Casinos in Atlantic City? Filed for bankruptcy. When an analyst published an accurate pan of the Casino bonds, he bullied - publicly - the analyst's bosses into firing him. The analyst won a wrongful dismissal lawsuit. He even bragged about how he mislead lenders into thinking he had broken ground on the original casino sight. (He hired a few contractors to drive their bulldozers around when he conducted a banker's tour of the sight, to create the image of construction) Trump's misdeeds in the NYC real estate world are legendary and his handshake is worthless in the industry. He routinely stiffs vendors and issues threats to anyone who publicly criticizes him. As to real estate success, let's not forget that Donald's father built a 700 million dollar empire that Trump stepped into. Trump fails the candidacy test on both experiential and ethical grounds. He is simply not suited to look after the interests of 300 million Americans. 30 people - his clan - he can look after. Beyond that, look out. It's hard to imagine how anyone could seriously envision this guy in the Chief Executive's office of the United States of America.
I'll add a personal note. It was only last week I found myself wondering about a particular situation. I'm thinking to myself what would Trump do? (go ahead and laugh) The thought I came away with regarding my Trump question is Donald probably would say to me "expect to be challenged". People are a royal pain in the ass.
