Actually quite a bit of information has come out about Trump's White House spending including the taxpayer cost for his golf. It's not conjecture. It has regularly been reported on in the U.S. House and Senate in official reports plus covered with details in the media. Taxpayers’ tab for Trump’s golfing during 2nd term reaches milestone, report says American taxpayers have now spent more than $26 million on President Donald Trump’s golf outings at his own courses during his second term https://www.masslive.com/news/2025/...g-2nd-term-reaches-milestone-report-says.html Published: Mar. 30, 2025 Are you still claiming that Trump is buying junk food with his own money while President?
Huff post analysis? Certainly no bias there. Will it please you if I simply claim that you can't marshal a solid argument as to why SNAP recipients should be allowed to buy whatever food they want (without relying on whataboutism)? Seems more than fair to me. Good luck figuring out how to #overcomethestink.
Are you still claiming that Trump is buying junk food with his own money while President? Just answer the question.
If it makes you happy... I'll sacrifice my pawn but only if you give me your queen and admit there is no good reason SNAP beneficiaries should be allowed to buy lobster and champagne w/ the benefits. Deal? If not you're just being petty.
If you admit your claim is incorrect that Trump is using his own money to pay for his junk food while in office then we can move on and talk about SNAP.
I don't think so, it's a package deal. If you contend that some "rich and powerful" got there unfairly, then you have to admit that some "less fortunate" are to blame for their own circumstances. Otherwise I think you'll be dealing on the "wrong side of 80/20" in perpetuity. What you want is to have your your cake and eat it too.... which is fantasy land.
If you can't retract your false claim there is really no reason to move the goal posts and move on to discussing SNAP. Discussing SNAP / Food Stamps in detail is something I have done in the past on ET. I have outlined how approximately 53% of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients are children in single-parent families. The huge majority of single parents being women. 74% of people on SNAP work, the majority of those on SNAP who do not work are disabled or elderly. Many people on SNAP work two jobs totaling more than 40 hours per week -- since most retail and restaurant jobs are part-time and many people need to work more than one to bring in enough income to cover their bills. Trying to portray people on SNAP as lazy bums who sit around and do nothing all day is the height of MAGA hypocrisy. Additionally I will note that SNAP cannot be used to buy McDonalds and other fast food (and food from restaurants in general). So the argument that these low income people are splurging on McDonalds using SNAP is laughable -- ONLY DONALD USES TAXPAYER MONEY TO BUY McDonalds. SNAP is key to feeding children across the U.S. -- taking SNAP away will cause many children to go hungry. This, of course, leads to why SNAP is used to buy "junk food" rather than "good food". This is because junk food is cheaper in the U.S. and the SNAP dollar goes further when junk food is purchased. If the government wants to change this behavior than they need to offer some type of discount program for people on SNAP to select "good food" over "junk food". This proposed policy has been outlined numerous times over the years -- and actual experiments showed offering a discount on "good foods" to be effective.
Blacks have nearly an 80% illegitimacy rate, which creates poor households that the rest of us have to pay for.
And yet whites make up the largest group of SNAP recipients. The majority of white recipients are single parent homes.
I won't give you an inch, it's about sugary drinks... or I'll just argue it should be eliminated altogether. You get no where without compromise. I couldn't care less if you starve to death. Do you prefer those goal posts? Did you ever hear the expression "beggars can't be choosers"? So... you're on SNAP and you're complaining that you can't spend it on soda? You're a pure unadulterated idiot.
