Trump taking over D.C. is not about stopping crime. Crime is at a 30 year low in Washington D.C.

This Trump move is about militarization. This isn't about safety. It's about power. This isn't about stopping crime. It's about building a political machine with boots and guns that can intimidate or even subdue any opposition.

It's setting the table so nobody in D.C. can protest against Donald Trump as he continues to undermine democracy. By controlling all the police forces in D.C. Trump can ensure not permits are issued to allow protests and that all protests will be violently broken up by forces under his control.

Actually, I posted statistics about the worst violent cities in American...a lot of Republican run cities on that list or located in Republican run states.

My point, he can not pick the most obvious talked about news stories...he needs to take over the most problematic cities although most cities in America are down considerably in violent crime statistics (overall is down 4.5% for that national trend in America).

You can choose which of the below cities to take over right now. :D

Heck, he even had the RNC Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not deadly enough to call up the National Guard...it's worst than Washington D.C. (I know...D.C. is a federal district/not a state nor city) but you suggested Chicago as a city to be taken over.

You need some smelling salt because you've obviously never visited Milwaukee...

I have been mugged as a teenager by midgets who pull guns and knives on my friends and I on our way to Racine (not a funny story when it was happening) heading to a party after a John Cougar (Mellencamp) concert.

That was when people were saying Milwaukee area is a nice city. :wtf:

Luckily for us, we weren't wearing white pants and looking like a pimp, Russian gang member, or gigolo/male prostitute walking in a bad neighborhood the way that DOGE 19-year old looked in D.C.

By the way, give Chicago (violent crime down 22% although the White House states down 30%) and Detroit (violent crime down 23%) a few more months, they may pop back up on the most violent crime cities in America before the year end...maybe not.

The current national trend is that violent crime is down 4.5%.

Trump taking over Little Rock, Arkansas should be an easy task to deploy the National Guard to that city because its a city well known for using the National Guard.

What about Memphis, Tennessee ? Two cities known to consistently be on the top list for violent crimes per capita but rarely make the news nor will Trump say anything about them...right???

Yet, at the end of the day, Washington D.C. is our nation's capital. It should not be on any type of high crime list. It's a bad look for any U.S. President sitting in the Oval Office even those who are convicted felons too. :sneaky:

P.S. I've been to Memphis a few times when I was in the military and stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. I feel safer walking the streets in Chicago than Memphis. Heck, even downtown Chicago near the Trump International Hotel & Tower is a safe area to walk near these days...

Although recently there was a body floating in the river near the Trump Tower. Maybe not news enough unless it had been a DOGE employee???

Carjacking wasn't a problem 30 years ago, now it is endemic in cities like Washington and Baltimore. Mostly black teens armed with automatic weapons.

You can parse the crime statistics to suit your purpose, but order needs to be restored.

Car jacking is more prevalent across the U.S. now because you need the car keys in order for the vehicle to operate. 30 years ago, thieves would simply hotwire and steal cars at night. You are comparing apples and oranges.

The overall crime rate in D.C. is at a 30 year low. This includes violent crimes.

Once again you didn't answer the question of why Trump and his administration are lying about the crimes rate in D.C.? Their lies are blatant and obvious.

  8. As long as Trump takes it over. That is all that matters.

“We stand with the President in recognizing that Washington, D.C., cannot continue on this trajectory,” union Chair Gregg Pemberton said in a statement. “Crime is out of control, and our officers are stretched beyond their limits.”

“The federal intervention is a critical stopgap, but the MPD needs proper staffing and support to thrive,” he added.

According to recent estimates, MPD’s force is about 500 officers short of its 4,000-officer allotment and is at its lowest staffing level in decades.

The black teens are not professional car thieves who intend to sell the cars, they are taking them on joy rides. If they are caught, they are swiftly released because they are juveniles. Hopefully Trump will address this as well.
