Trump plans to sign EO ending birthright citizenship

  1. Not sure the Founders would have been as big on Chinese birth tourism to the US as your ilk are.

  2. All this is about is a new distraction from Trump.

Dems just say OK, see you in court after the election and get focused on things like the plan to eliminate preexisting conditions protection.

As far as GWB knows. Anyone got a napkin and we can record all he actually knows for a laugh?

A set of characters on this forum can sling insults BUT WHAT THEY CAN’T DO IS NAME A SINGLE OTHER NATION WHICH HAS BIRTH-RIGHT CITIZENSHIP CITING A RELIABLE SOURCE.

The 14th Amendment was added to the constitution in response to the Dred Scott ruling. It is important to understand the 14th amendment fixes a flaw in the original constitution.

Does it have a flaw within itself is another question.

That’s fine. We can have laws unique to ourselves. We don’t need to look to other nations to decide what is right and what is wrong for us.

We are unique in the fact that we are truly a nation of immigrants. Fee and far between Americans have deep roots and among those that do many of them were enslaved.

I’m not dismissing a President can regulate the 14th Amendment through an EO but there will be significant legal challenges. It would be better to have an act of Congress and best to amend the constitution.

As much as I would like to see the change happen, it is protected by the 14th amendment. As conservatives, we tell liberals all the time to respect the constitution and if they don't like it, they can lobby to change the constitution through either a constitutional convention or through a 2/3rds majority vote in Congress.

We can't suddenly change the Constitution or its amendments simply because we don't like a part of it. We must also follow the proper procedure to get a change, if we can.
