because they pay taxes and the constitution is clear about the constituent makeup of those governed. It's like cons forget that whole "no taxation w/o representation" bit the country was founded on.
Where do you get this violating the constitution idea... I just quoted Robert's for you. Now its possible there is some other language in the decision to which you refer... But... so far we see the Chief Justice said Ross's reason seemed to be a pretext and they were not going to accept a pretext. That is not a ruling on the constitutionality of the question on the census. What part of the english language do you not comprehend?
This is above your head Jem: The Constitution Requires the Census The Constitution of the United States, Article I, Sections 2 and 9, directs that a census or enumeration be taken. Section 2 states, “The actual enumeration shall be made within three years after the first meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such manner as they shall by law direct." In 1954, Congress codified earlier census acts and all other statutes authorizing the decennial census into law under Title 13, U.S. Code. Title 13 requires the Census Bureau to notify Congress of the planned subjects for the census no later than three years before that census, and of the specific wording of questions to be asked no later than two years before that census. Doing anything that compromises the accurate enumeration aka asking a population if they're legal endangers that accuracy, hence illegal.
That works, or you can marry someone who becomes President. Then it's OK if you worked here for awhile on a tourist visa and just stayed a few years. You can bring your whole family in too.
The whole premise of illegal immigrants paying taxes is somehow fiscally beneficial is totally bs. No problem with people coming here, just do it legally.
