Trump: I didn’t want to cause panic in America so I’ll lie and call COVID-19 same as the seasonal flu... oh and btw, BLM AND ANTIFA ARE AT YOUR FRONT DOOR, BUYING HOMES IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND ARE BURNING DOWN YOUR COMMUNITY!!!!!

Disagree, he was trying to keep from instilling panic. At the same time trying to put into place what was necessary. The panic was bad enough, people hoarding everything, can’t imagine telling everyone the sky is falling and Keeping control of supplies.

I understand the liberal need to vilify Trump, specially in an election year. But I seriously doubt anything would have unfolded any differently, regardless of who was in office.

When you view a unbiased time line of the virus. Trump handled it effectively.

But by all means, keep spewing your odio naranja.

    Yes, people were upset.

There were interviewing airport travellers Chicago, New York, LA and Atlanta and people were perplexed with allowing U.S. citizens to return back to the U.S. via a questionnaire with questions like "do you feel sick", "do you have a fever".
    • Same here in Canada but within days...they change that here in Canada because they quickly realized people aren't telling the truth. They then started doing "temperature tests".
I'm not sure how many days went by between the initial BAN via an executive order and when they actually started using temperature checks instead of a questionnaire.

Also, I wasn't paying attention to the politics at that time about what the Democrats were doing but I was paying attention about people being allowed to return back from China while there was a ban on China.

These People weren't complaining...they said anything to get home.

Worst...at that time...no ban on returning people from Europe when Europe was erupting with Covid-19. Then something strange happen with the Cruise ships...they weren't allow to dock at American ports even though there were U.S. citizens on those ships and while knowing sick people were still flying into the U.S.

Yeah, eventually (not at first) they went through a screening process AND advised to quarantine but it was too late...too many had already enter between the initial ban and the screening process.

January 16th - U.S. CDC began screening passengers travelling back from Wuhan only. The screening process was just a questionnaire. Other Chinese cities not screened nor banned.

January 31st - U.S. blocks travel from all of China. Strangely, it does not apply to US residents and family members or spouses of US residents or citizens...ooops because it would later be discover it was these people (U.S. citizens) that brought in the infection after only one contact tracing visitor from Wuhan.

...15 days of infected people entering the U.S. and then going back to their lives without any contact tracing nor follow-up about their health except for the person from Wuhan that it was later discover had infected elderly at a nursing home in the state of Washington.
    • Canada made the exact same mistake too.
I think if people focus more on the Pandemic and less on Republican / Democrats they'll better understand how to manage the Pandemic and their emotions.

Yet, I do understand its an election year and people obviously rather spend their time on what the Republicans / Democrats are saying instead of concentrating on an infection they can not visibly see until they become hospitalized (seeing its impact) or until they lose their job from a Lockdown that was initially stated Covid-19 was a "HOAX" at a rally.

Panic? There was no panic in developed countries that were straightforward about it.

  6. So you live in America? Or not. Because if you live in Canada... And I will challenge your "head games". It is impossible to be Canadian, American and French all at the same time politically. All those countries have opposing viewpoints on politics. LOL

And you are already using head games. You must think I am stupid.Like bugenbutthead you say nice things in your posts and then you say something mentally abusive like almost every liberal here at ET.

And am I supposed to be afraid of you because you were in the military? Or are you just threatening me.

It's not complex...born in France, grew up in United States...later moving to Canada to start a family while maintaining a residence in all three countries. Depending upon the time of the year...I live in one of the three.

Yet, as you know, its a year of a Pandemic...I'm not moving around much. Located in one country although I had recently returned from a hunting trip near my elders land in South Dakota just before the Pandemic.

By the way, I didn't grow up in Canada. Thus, I'm not attached to the political system here but its interesting especially when some of my friends talk about sovereignty. Thus, I live in Québec in an area many don't view themselves as Canadians but more Quebecois. Many here still want to be a sovereign country from Canada.

Also, never implied the three countries (France, Canada / Québec, United States) have similar political view points although all three have social unrest / riots / peaceful protesting...but only one has used its military against peaceful protesters. That's what pop up on my radar.

Regardless, I specifically stated I understand the politics in all three countries. In addition, I mention my military background in the U.S. only after you attempted to cast doubt on my political opinions about the U.S. because I live in Canada.

    Sorry, I don't know a "bugenbutthead".
