more American than me. I didn't even make it to my 18th birthday without getting in trouble several times with the law. If you can sneak across, make a living and stay out of trouble until you have come of age, that's American enough for me.
The problem has nothing whatsoever to do with the Constitution. It has to do with 1) the porous border and the difficulty of getting effective legislation passed that would correct that situation because U.S. businesses want access to cheap labor. (THE U.S.WAS BUILT ON CHEAP LABOR. Cheap Labor underlies the entire U.S. economy and it's bedrock upon which the country was founded!) U.S. businessmen and corporations pull the political strings in this country. 2) The U.S. is extremely ineffective in going after employers of illegals, and on the rare occasion employers do get caught, the fines are not sufficient to make hiring of illegals non-profitable. They go right back to the well and hire more illegals -- see for instance "Howard Industries.." All other developed countries go after employers to a greater extent than we do. We reverse that in the U.S. because business calls the tune, and Congress dances to it.
no, everytime one illegal crosses, we are going to move the border south by one mile. "Before long, we'll own Vera Cruz...Have you ever been there? It's gorgeous. I love Vera Cruz. The people are great. They love me. The people in Vera cruz are begging....just begging for me to build a resort there."
Stu look at it this way. Let's assume you are CEO of a major U.S. corporation that hires many illegals. Do you want your illegal workforce showing up on the job sick and hungry. I hardly think so!
can you call a court with kennedy and a squish like Roberts in the middle a conservative court. perhaps it had the potential to be a conservative court... but it is not. not on the big issues it has reviewed lately.
I love this idea. I know Trump is going to go for it too. He'll get his people working on it right away. Vera Cruz is gonna love the Donald!
