  3. I see her getting in hissy in the letter and "suggesting" but I dont see where she said he cannot do it in person in the Congressional building. She may go there at some point but it is not in that letter.

She tries to make a case for the Secret Service, except reports are that the Secret Service was not consulted and asserts that they have already done prep for it and are prepared. I "suggest" that Nancy speak with them and ask them to confirm her statements. Trump should force her to clarify whether her "suggestion" is a no or just a recommendation/request. No way I would let her crabwalk around like that.

The State of the Union Address is an annual message[1] presented by the President of the United States to a joint session of the United States Congress, except in the first year of a new president's term.[2] The message typically includes a budget message and an economic report of the nation, and also allows the President to propose a legislative agenda (for which the cooperation of Congress is needed) and national priorities.[3]

The address fulfills rules in Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, requiring the President to periodically "give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient."[1]During most of the country's first century, the President primarily only submitted a written report to Congress. After 1913, Woodrow Wilson, the 28th U.S. President, began the regular practice of delivering the address to Congress in person as a way to rally support for the President's agenda.[1] With the advent of radio and television, the address is now broadcast live across the country on many networks.[4]

The resolution to have the president address congress has to go through both the House and the senate. That has not been done yet.

There is no scheduled state of the union as of now. Let his majesty tweet it. #Trumpshutdown

  7. But then again, if Trump does not plan on it, it will be his fault, because she will say that she never said no, only that she suggested they go another route.

It is that kind of verbal gameplaying that has disabled the negotiations too. Nothing worse than trying to dialogue or negotiate with a crabwalker.

Trump can easily just give his SOU address from the Whitehouse live on TV while sending it in writing to Congress. He can use the speech to berate Democrats as being obstructionists who don’t want security in America.

He should just invite his base, give the speech from the White House and eat left over Big Macs, Whoppers and fries.
