Seriously it just seems like Americans are drifting into this unaware of what is about to hit them. The auto workers know, the layoffs are pretty much guaranteed at this point some "temporary" layoffs already occurred. Management in all sorts of companies knows once their old inventory depletes they have a problem. So far the worst of it isn't obvious because a lot of companies stockpiled pre-tariff and some customers made purchases pre-tariff. Some of the tariffs have been delayed for now beyond the 10%.Those that are 25% like the aluminum and steel from Canada are a problem already. I think there has been an implicit assumption that Trump and gang aren't stupid enough to carry through with any of this. And that may be a bad assumption. I think in countries like Canada we expect the worst and hence are better prepared for it. Too many Americans believe Trump's rhetoric about who pays the tariffs and that their various industries will be fine they don't need the imports. And many US industry leaders are clearly saying no they aren't ok. I'm no expert it just seems to be a mess with a leader in some sort of delusional daze. All the coping measures people made have delayed the worst but the clock is ticking.
What are you gipping about down there in FL. AT LEAST you have gators, frog legs, fish to eat and palmetto leaves to wipe your ass with.
Wherever it is you live pinbrain will be affected as well. Loss of jobs, some lucky only a loss of hours worked, higher prices, likely in your lower-income area higher fentanyl use. All so a few low paying manufacturing jobs return because we know obviously they won't be union - that no one really wants anyway. CMTFSU "elect a clown get a circus" and a big stupid audience to cheer it on.
