    In children:
    Magical thinking
is the belief that one's own thoughts, wishes, or desires can influence the external world. It is common in very young children. A four-year-old child, for example, might believe that after wishing for a pony, one will appear at his or her house.

    In adults:
Magical thinking is the respectable cousin of denial. It doesn’t pretend there isn’t a problem. Instead, it offers an unrealistic solution e.g. every who is 'bad' is working in a colossal conspiracy and just should be arrested.

I think you might have missed the tenor of my post there Pie. I never said Fox was right, far from it fact. They all sensationalize their particular point of view on whatever the talking point of that particular day happens to be. I don't buy any of it 100%. I have a forged in fire BS filter that most here will never have. You surprise me actually, you seem very set in your ways. And I don't say that as a slam, but at 70 years old plus and with your strong educational background... I would think you could see through the BS "on both sides" (i love that phrase lol). That kinda surprises me really. I guess it all depends on from where one came.

Ah, you recognised what you are doing, still a couple of marbles left then.

The right=ENDLESS lunatic conspiracies and conspiracy minded people to lap it up.

Ah, piezoe commented on the fact that one side had to be wrong, Fox or the MSM.... I was just stating the opposite view of the extremist positions.

Yes, there’s plenty on lunatics on both sides.

You're assuming here that I don't see through the exaggerations and fabrications regardless of the slant they are delivered from. But you get my point . They can't all be right. I would never agree that there is equal fault all around. Just as in divorce, one side invariably bears more fault than the other, despite the absurd refrain, "well, they are both at fault," as if to suggest the fault is anything like equal. And when criminal activity is involved, the side bearing the greatest fault is invariably the criminal side, or the side that defends the indefensible.

The old two sides argument from the right. Reminded me of this.
