very soon trump will probably shoot himself - just for publicity.

(he would've already done it if he wasn't such a pussy.)

Well not a brilliant a prediction as WC makes ;) but in the ballpark that it was a disappointed supporter.

I will predict this however, the attempts are going to make it more likely there are more attempts. This is why trampling norms as Trump does, sticking his neck out too far as narcissists do, is going to end in disaster for him or another bystander.

He WILL have been advised to put up ballistic glass and he ignored that. He will have been advised to put up a sensor net at the club and had dogs patrolling* as well as agents, he didn't.

    Too cheap or too stupid?

*The guy was there for twelve hours undetected.

JFK's campaign (people in his inner circle) often ignored recommendations from the Secret Service heading to Dallas, Texas including the campaign "demanding" it was not going to be a good look for the President to be in a limousine with the top-up.

Thus, they requested a convertible with its top down so the people of Texas could get a good look at his popular wife (she was a lot more popular with the Texas people than JFK) and him.

Just as bad, J. Edgar Hoover had been alerted about Oswald's threat and threats by other Texas residents. Hoover then decides not to share the info with the President's protection detail of JFK because Hoover strongly disliked JFK.

Plus, JFK did not fear death because of his lifelong illnesses and he thought he'd never live long enough to become an elderly person.

Simply, JFK took a lot of unnecessary risks.

Well...we all know what happened next. :(

JFK was quite narcissistic* and one thing I learned about them, it's in the DSM manual so not only a personal observation, is that they don't recognise personal danger too well. It's not bravery, it's part of the condition.

*Though not in the grandiose way Johnson was who would literally show his sizeable junk to others at a urinal, from him we get "Johnson" as a euphemism.

No surprise, instead of putting up screens, Trump allowed ideal vantage points for snipers because, you know, publicity.

The Associated Press reported that the Florida golf course was partially shut down for Trump as he played Sunday but that there are "several areas around the perimeter of the property" where golfers can be seen from the club's fence line.

Failed Trump assassin's vantage point was no secret – paparazzi have staked out tree line for years

@Tuxan, I think we've become friends while conversing and debating in this forum. And, as your friend, I feel you might have IAD and need to start setting some boundaries on how much you use the internet.

Have you thought about taking a break, maybe getting outside for more than a few minutes at a time? Here are the times you posted today:

I'm touched, but regrettably still sane.

Well you see every now and again Buy1 gets scared so has to touch all of his old prayer wheels (threads) and so, it takes a lot of posting to calm him down.

I am cutting an iron meteor into a blade. The process will take weeks and requires constant attention to bring out the best of the Widmanstätten patterns. These are unique to meteors, a geometric array of iron-nickel crystals that form over millions of years in what was likely a destroyed proto planet, billion of years ago.

So when I need a break from the microscope, I turn my attention elsewhere. It's very boring work, so one wouldn't want to switch to anything too interesting. Upsets concentration.

How much could a political influencer with no followers get paid on ET? 3¢/post? If that?

We're not talking about 100k twitter followers here. The meltdown alternative seems more likely but, sadly, far less fortunate.

3¢/post is the upside and the downside is complete mental breakdown? OMG, talk about a rock and a hard place!
