Well it is a different angle, quite narrow, his late brother is in it and how he failed him, they didn't get to how he failed his mother (not providing a man for security). Mind you I thought the rape was after he had the hair and face lift surgery? I might have it wrong.
Thing is, though, that his father figured prominently in Trump’s career from the very beginning right until the time of his death. So excluding him or sidelining him brings the narrative into question.
Yes and no and this relates to why Trump needed Roy Cohen because his father was getting past it and not up to taking on the justice department. They mention that Fred Snr was a tough guy, a very damaging father but in the movie he is a older man who is no longer formidable and traditional in business thinking. He was born in 1905. I recall reading that Fred was symptomatic 20 years before his death.
That’s all well and good but without Fred’s money there would have been no Donald of any consequence whatsoever. He would presently be a complete and total nonissue. A mere smudge on the landscape of failed businesses at the very first go around decades ago.
Well they could have covered that more but they had a good scene where Cohen who was brutally calculating realised that Donny was going to crash and burn. I thought it was better than I expected, it was well above a TV movie in grading. But.. There is so much to fit in? I'm sure the director's cut/extras will fill out a lot.
Well, if it comes on one of the networks or other channels I get, I’ll give it a look. Did they mention anything about Trump being behind the hygiene curve? At least give me that.
Yes, they showed his aversion to germs and how stress made his phobias worse. Cohen was a vile creature and at the end you feel a little bad (not much) but a little because Donny was a different evil he himself didn't really get until too late. Donny's speed addiction was well addressed.
The movie is too subtle for MAGA types but it has a needle to thread and they probably would finish it. Sebastian Stan is much better looking. They would like that.
