I thought Parler was the anti-censorship platform? They clearly need to be 230'd if they're being publishers.

Judge Kicks Lin Wood Off Carter Page Case Due To ‘Mendacity,’ ‘Incompetence’
    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/lin-wood-carter-page-lawsuit-judge

A judge revoked his permission for Trump-world lawyer Lin Wood to argue in a Carter Page case Monday, calling Wood’s behavior a “toxic stew of mendacity, prevarication and surprising incompetence.”

The Page case centers on defamation allegations stemming from the Mueller probe.

“I acknowledge that I preside over a small part of the legal world in a small state,” Judge Craig Karsnitz of the Superior Court of Delaware wrote. “However, we take pride in our bar.”

Karsnitz referred to Wood’s filings in other states, in which Wood spearheaded legal attempts to overturn the November election. The judge called Wood’s Georgia case “textbook frivolous litigation” and said that another complaint of his in a Wisconsin case “would not survive a law school civil procedure class.”

The judge also made reference to Wood’s recent tweets (before he, like many peddlers of the QAnon conspiracy theory, got kicked off the platform), which include calls for Vice President Mike Pence to be executed. His tweets have been gobbled up by heavy consumers of pro-Trump conspiracy theories. Among them was Ashli Babbitt, the woman who was shot and killed at the Capitol Wednesday as she and the rest of the mob surged towards the House chamber.

“No doubt these tweets, and many other things, incited these riots,” the judge wrote, before clarifying that he was kicking Wood off the case due to his election lawsuits apart from the tweeting.

Wood’s error-riddled filings have become infamous, with observers getting a particular kick out of one sign-off “under plenty of perjury.”

It was cheaper for them to settle the case than fight it out.... on the basis of what their attorney fees would be. Their settling was a pure business decision.

Pro-Trump lawyer must pass mental health exam if he hopes to keep his law license: report
    https://www.rawstory.com/l-lin-wood-2650175012/

One of the lawyers who pushed Donald Trump's conspiracy theory about election fraud will need a doctor to confirm he's mentally fit to practice law, he revealed on Thursday evening.

"For the last many months, I have worked 20 hour days," L. Lin Wood posted on Telegram. "I speak truth. The truth is I am tired."

"I am fighting battles on every front. The State Bar of Georgia told me today they would demand a mental health exam from me if I wanted to keep my law license," Wood posted. "My mind is sound."

"I try to live a principled life. There is no basis for the Bar's demand. But am I choosing my battles carefully?" he asked.

Lawyer Lin Wood says he will refuse a mental health test and threatens the Georgia State Bar as it opens an inquiry into his conduct
    https://www.insider.com/lin-wood-mental-health-test-to-keep-his-law-license-2021-1
    • Pro-Trump lawyer L. Lin Wood says he will refuse a mental health assessment from the Georgia State Bar.
    • In a post on Telegram, Wood says he didn't violate any professional code and is "of sound mind."
    • As the post goes on, it takes a threatening tone: "... like all of us, the State Bar will have to face the consequences of its choices," he wrote.
A far-right, pro-Trump attorney who is at risk of losing his license to practice law posted to the alternative messaging app Telegram on Friday, saying he will refuse to take a mental health assessment the Georgia State Bar has requested.

    L. Lin Wood, an Atlanta-based defamation lawyer, rose to infamy last year because of his role in former President Donald Trump's unhinged attempt to overthrow the election, and representing the teenager who shot three Black Lives Matter demonstrators during unrest over the summer.

He has been banned from Twitter after repeatedly spreading disinformation and conspiracy theories.

The city of Detroit had also previously called for Wood, and other lawyers involved in the election scheme, to be disbarred in Michigan and other states where they are licensed.

The State Bar of Georgia Chief Operating Officer Sarah Coole confirmed in an email to Insider that an inquiry pertaining to Wood is ongoing under a rule that says mental illness could be grounds for disbarment. She said the investigation process is confidential and did not provide further comment.

In a Telegram post on Friday afternoon, Wood said he would refuse the exam if it was formally requested of him.

"I am of sound mind and I have not violated any rule of professional conduct," he wrote.

Wood went on to talk about his career as a defamation attorney, and his work representing Richard Jewell.

Toward the end, he took a threatening tone.

"I hope that the state bar will not foolishly seek what they have no right to have. But the choice is theirs to make. Like all of us — we have the right to choose. But like all of us, the State Bar will have to face the consequences of its choices," he wrote on Telegram Friday. "I will not go quietly in the night."

Wood's Telegram page is full of ranting posts and Bible verses. He has over 716,000 followers.

Wood didn't immediately respond to a voicemail from Insider on Friday.

The State Bar of Georgia didn't return a message seeking comment on Wood's tone or the pending mental health assessment.

Lin Wood doubles down on attacking Pence, Roberts
In a court filing, the Atlanta lawyer again brought up bizarre, unsubstantiated allegations amid a bid to drive him off a libel suit.
    https://www.politico.com/news/2021/02/09/lin-wood-attacks-pence-roberts-468027

Lin Wood, the prominent Atlanta lawyer who brought several unsuccessful lawsuits challenging the results of the 2020 presidential election, filed an affidavit in federal court on Tuesday reaffirming bizarre allegations he made about Chief Justice John Roberts and branding former Vice President Mike Pence as a traitor.

Wood submitted the affidavit in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, N.Y., as he resists an effort by lawyers in a libel case to oust him from that litigation because of his election-related lawsuits and the outlandish statements he has made in recent months.

“I have credible evidence to support the truth of my description of Former Vice-President Pence as a traitor,” Wood declared in the declaration signed under oath on Sunday.

In social media posts early last month, Wood had called for Pence to be executed by firing squad, apparently for failing to back then-President Donald Trump’s efforts to challenge the slates of electors from several states.
