Trump and Taxes

    Trump said, for the most part, that he paid no income taxes in recent years.
    I assume this is because he leverages a lot of property and in America you can write off the interest paid on these properties against your income.
    Is that possibly what he means?
    He's very likely not involved in tax evasion, just avoidance, which is every citizens right.
    I'm sure this has been covered but I wasn't sure.

    If you're in business and you are not getting sued... you're doing something wrong.
    Same goes for paying taxes.
    As long as its legal under the tax codes... you're stupid if you don't exploit them.
    Like Trumpy said.... "that's smart".
