The most inbred states in America tend to be Red states. As a former Kentuckian, I remember as a kid that my mom and her friends would talk about particular elementary kids who had moms and the grandfather was their father. Note: The above-inbred list changes from year to year. The above states are also in the top incest state rankings (parents with their teenage or adult children). Further, several years ago...the states of Washington and Oregon were in the top 10. Some of the above states changed laws so that inbreeding is no longer a crime. Other states blame their high inbred ranking on inadvertent changes to the state incest law. Also, if we look at the global list...Northern Africa and a Mediterranean country are consistently at the top of the global list. Other countries high on the inbred list: Arab countries, followed by India, Japan, Brazil, and Israel. These countries are a shock to me.
