Typically Presidential candidates are fact-checked in real-time by individuals during debates. This first debate was intentionally not done although I do not know why. Yet, it was the first debate and the only one without real-time fact-checking about what each candidate had said. In contrast, there will be fact-checking done after last night's debate and I'm very curious to see who is the winner (the one that lied the least, the one that made the most outrageous lie, the one that failed to answer questions the most et cetera). No matter how many convicted felonies and no matter who looks lethargic after a long day of working... Today after the fact-checkers release their report or very soon we'll know which one LIED more than the other...which one to trust more than the other although both LIED... Regardless, many Independents will rightfully continue complaining both parties should have had better candidates. As stated many times, recently, the door opens a little more for an Independent to sneak into the Oval Office and it will not be RFK Jr. Hopefully, someone shows up within the next month or two to shake up the U.S. Presidential election that RFK Jr., Trump and Biden will say...Oh Shit. P.S. I would love to see a game scoreboard that the TV audience and the Presidential debaters can see...the scoreboard will show in real-time the total number of LIES and a scrolling list of LIES... It would be very interesting to see how each candidate reacts to the scoreboard of LIES being told by each one during the debate. wrbtrader
No amount of "fact checking" Trump will salvage the disaster Biden had last night. He is done. They either run with a different VP and hope, or as you suggest a third party candidate emerges. While I still support worm brain, he's unlikely to present a strong enough challenge. The entire democratic party really screwed the pooch waiting this long and now it's a mad scramble. If it's Joe and Kamala v. Trump it's Trump in a landslide, even from a jail cell. Perhaps especially if in a jail cell.
I said fact-checking both Biden and Trump. Regardless, will there be a debate with Biden, Trump, and RFK Jr with all three on stage ??? Why was RFK Jr. not included in this first debate ??? I read somewhere that a third candidate can emerge in as of late August if something dramatic happens to one of the other two primary candidates. I can see that mad scramble that you mentioned although for a difference reason, happening in August. If not, the one that LIES the most will win the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. Biden misspoke numerous times, repeated himself and froze at the end of one answer. Trump, meanwhile, delivered responses filled with falsehoods and exaggerations, and refused to commit to accepting the outcome of November’s election. The view that Trump won the night also gave a small lift to the dollar.
CNN won the debate actually giving a somewhat balanced moderation of the two..other than that, we are fucked.
Because there was no interrupting by the candidates it didn't allow for the moderator to interrupt for fact checks or get to the candidate back on the question
Those voting for Trump with his crazy lies, 34x felony convictions with other felony convictions coming around the corner... They decided they would vote for Trump long before the June 27th Debate even if Biden had not been confused, slow, and in a stupor. Thus, I always view the first debate as the first playoff game in a championship. Sometimes it's a close game, other times someone gets blown out in the first game but it does not determine who the winner will be because there are more games to play. Too many elephants in the room to change things around. Regardless, an instigator in trying to overturn a fair election (January 6th riots), a convicted felon 34x, statistically the biggest liar ever among all U.S. Presidents, guilty of fraud, proven in a civil trial to be a rapist, and his popularity grows with each crime along with several states passing new laws as if America is a religious country (we're not and religion is nearing all-time lows) shows the world what America is about...hypocrites that think religion will fix our hypocritical behavior towards each other. Simply, we're becoming more radical with false prophets just like other countries we look down upon. What happens when powerful countries become more radical and force religion into the education system even when they have a different religion, different church, and teachers with a different religion with a leader as a false prophet ???
