Americans voted for this. They also elected Trump in Michigan so he could destroy their economy with tariffs on steel, aluminum, and anything from Canada/Mexico. I do wonder when inflation goes up, unemployment goes up, and stock markets correct what people will think about him. Because that all seems inevitable now.
Any outfit that lacks sufficient oversight will go rogue- whether private or government issued soldiers. Plenty of examples in history - make that American history- to choose from. Solution, don't do anything anywhere without providing for adequate oversight. This is true for the finances related to these operations and other governments as well. Once you are committed to doing something but without adequate oversight, expect nothing but a disaster. Example, the u.s. government committed whole hog to fund Ukraine but nixed a bill assigning inspector generals to monitor the fiances. So.....now we will enter the phase where everyone is supposed to be surprised about the corruption that is and will be uncovered. ICE does not have the resources to carry out the mission it has been assigned, so they need additional bodies in some form but also oversight to go with it and massive transparency to go with it. The Biden administration certainly suffered from the lack of oversight and transparency too. They were flying government planes into various countries, Haiti, Venezeula etc and DELIVERING illegals the country. When they were caught, they went through a phase of saying that they were just flying kids around the counry to be re-united with families- a bullshit story that lasted until of the video of adult males from incoming planes from foreign countries emerged. Oversight. Don't leave home without it. Blackwater was running a fucking private fiefdom on the U.S. government dime. Don't do that. But also don't assume that a government line agency is not an abuser too if left to go rogue. Lt. Calley in Vietnam wiped out and butchered hundreds of Vietnamese along with several other units that were just operating for months with no oversight or command presence.
Oh shit!!!! They are totally fucked. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...s-security-clearances-employees-high-powered/ BREAKING: Trump Strips Security Clearances For Employees at High-Powered DC Law Firm That Gave Jack Smith $140,000 in Pro Bono Legal Services
Dems will argue that the trump doj cannot be objective in their investigation and possible prosecution. FINE! Pam Bondi can appoint as many special counsels as are needed to investigate the dozens of scenarios that will be in the crosshairs as long as is needed and then some. Go for it. Categorizing the legal work as a "gift" has a bad smell to it. Was that a gift to Jack Smith as a government lawyer. Or in his personal capacity or what? And if it is a gift, for what purpose does private law firm choose to give 140k to the government or a government employed person and what were the legal and ethical obligations to disclose that as part of legal proceedings? There are echoes of Andrew McCabe there. You know Andy was prosecuting/investigating Trump (the head of he republican party) while Andy's wife was running for office as a democrat and received a pile of money from the DNC. In other words Andy's household was benefitting from DNC dollars at a time when he was making decisions that were supposed to be untainted by politics. Murky shit. Jack Smith's scenario smells murky too.
Considering the critical need for security clearances, a DC law firm would find its business severely impacted without them. I was assuming that, being in DC, it is most likely an essential requirement. Without these clearances, the firm might struggle to retain clients and could need to pivot to other areas of law.
Unobtainium: The Ultimate "I Told You So" Material Trump has turned the Dems into his little bitches. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/world/europe/ukraine-minerals-deal.html Ukraine Agrees to Minerals Deal With U.S., Officials Say President Trump had insisted he wanted “payback” for past aid, shifting America’s three-year alliance with Ukraine to a mercantile footing.
Yeh. there is that but what was the quid pro quo for giving a "gift" to either Jack Smith or the government or are we being asked to just believe that it was a nice day to give the government 140K of services?
So Trump will be signing an agreement where he basically get shit in terms of repayments for funds provided to Ukraine -- after making so much noise about it. Such a "deal". "The draft deal does not require Ukraine to commit to repaying the United States up to $500 billion from the potential revenue." https://www.yahoo.com/news/europe-undercuts-trump-offering-surprise-181546381.html
The country is trying to break out of a dem-induced trance state. Good luck to us. We know the dems will fight it tooth and nail.
