Since taking over on Jan. 20, 2025, President Donald Trump's office hasn't been able to reach those numbers "despite its crackdown." The report cites Trump's hire, Tom Homan, calculating "about 14,000 immigrants" who were arrested in the "three-plus weeks" after the inauguration. Homan previously served as Trump's acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In the new administration, he was appointed the "border czar," which has not been an official White House position in the past. Axios concluded that fewer people are coming to the United States because of Trump's "tough talk." Homan told WABC radio that illegal border crossings have decreased by 92% since Jan. 20. He also said that of the 14,000 arrests, the "vast majority have criminal histories." However, federal data collected by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) showed "about 60% of the 39,152 people held in ICE detention as of Dec. 29 had no criminal record." While the Trump administration was broadcasting the number of arrests by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, the report said the team has "stopped giving daily ICE updates" and "details on arrests." Maybe it was because the goddam illegals were coming across the border in droves and asking the first person they saw where the border patrol agents were so that they could surrender to them, knowing that after they were arrested they would be released into the community with paperwork requiring them to show up for a hearing sometime this century. Compare that to under Trump. When an illegal crosses and sees border patrol now he thinks "my ass is grass and Trump is a lawnmower if I do not run." Viewers, see if you can spot the difference. As outlined earlier, the majority of illegals arrested under Trump have been released right back into the U.S. Trump’s raids are performative nonsense and not even effective. BTW these arrests are not detentions at the border which are a totally different count.
Correct but only because he has no detention facilities for all that he is catching BUT IS WORKING DILIGENTLY TO INCREASE THE NUMBER AND SIZE OF DETENTION FACILITIES to catch up with the demand. And also to reduce crossings (overwhelmingly successful already) which will free up more detention space as well. Trump is releasing non violent because he wants to hold as many violent as he can until gitmo and other places are established. Biden dealt with it by letting the violent straight into the community. Compare this with Biden who had little to no detention space, kept reducing it, and dealt with by just waving them directly out into the community. See if you can spot the difference. Trump has no been in office for even a month. Yet Bidens scenario was the best he could do after four years. Again, see if you can spot the difference. Not your strong point.
In nearly every single month of the Biden administration they arrested more illegals than Trump. How come Trump is such an underachieving failure? It’s sad that Trump is unable to find space for a mere 14,000 illegal immigrants and instead is releasing a majority of them back into the U.S. — such a failure in planning. Especially in view that the administration is claiming that a vast majority of the arrestees have criminal histories.
