It would appear that Trudeau's domestic popularity is mediocre and getting worse in fact:

Washington Post: Canadians’ love affair with Justin Trudeau is over

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ir-with-justin-trudeau-is-over/?noredirect=on

    Here's a big reason why:

"Trudeau spoke in Toronto ahead of the Group of Seven summit that Canada will host next week. At that summit, Trudeau will tout his view of “inclusive growth,” in particular programs aimed at supporting gender and cultural diversity in politics and the workplace."

My own take: on the face of it, that is a wonderful idea that we can all agree on. The problem that has Canadians grousing, however, is that the Trudeau cabinet is looking at equality of outcome policies and not equality of opportunity policies. Which will lose the working class for Trudeau's liberals IMO. I'm not a Canadian, just my 2 cents. In my mind this is replicating the mistake the radical left in the US is making. And I've heard posters here on this board say that the Democratic Party doesn't need the white working class vote. Ask Hillary how that worked out for her.

Thank you. There was neither a hyperlink nor a citation in your original post. And of course you used Trudeau's remark without attribution in your Thread Title. You responded to my request for the source by using an extraneous word to create a hyper link. Hyper links are fine when used correctly.

Having spent considerable time in Canada, my distinct impression is that the white nationalist movement in Canada is nowhere near as strong as in the U.S. Although Trudeau's politics would be highly unpopular in rural America and particularly in the rural Deep South, in Canada, and despite a recent dip in popularity, he still enjoys reasonable, if not overwhelming, support.

There are some striking differences between Canada and the U.S. that are immediately obvious. Compared to the U.S. Canada has drastically lower crime and incarceration rates, more restrictive gun laws, far safer cities, and its public schools are more uniform in quality with better outcomes. Canada has a stronger middle class, far less wealth disparity, and universal access to routine health care. What these desirable characteristics are due to, I don't know. I suspect it relates somehow to Canadian politics and government, because Canada's population, though much smaller, reflects a similar mix of cultures to that in the U.S. One striking difference, however, is Canada's official recognition of its dual English-French heritage, and its bilingual public education. Although the U.S. has addressed, in various legislation, the need for bilingual education in some of it's schools, the approaches taken in Canada and the U.S. are worlds apart. Needless to say the results obtained have been equally disparate.

I can not escape the conclusion that our Canadian friends do quite a few things better than we. We should pay attention. We might learn something that could make our U.S. society even better.

You seem to be some sort of ignorant man child who knows almost nothing about the world around them. That makes you an embarrassment to the US and the system that made you the deeply flawed man that you are.

I was curious about your post, so I googled Canadian demographics by race. I don't know how much of a bearing it has, but Canada is a much more racially homogeneous country as compared to the United States.

  7. I see. You were not able to come up with any substantive response.

There is a reason for that.

Probably not a good day for you anyway, considering that Trump just stuck a few things up your bo-bo. We feel your pain.

Most Canadians just see the US going nuts in recent years and marvel at the stupidity of it. Trump is trying to make things far worse by starting trade wars with everyone.

  9. Indeed, there is a reason why Canada is referred to as "The Great White North," eh?
