Trudeau must resign immediately

  1. I thought he was referring to left and right in the general context:

The TreeFrog regards the Liberals as being "left." And so, by his own standard, the overall votes favored the "left" side of the political spectrum. The only party to the right of the PCs was the "People's Party" which got less that 300k votes.

Personally, I regard the Liberals as being somewhat more centrist, but that is beside the point. I was just taking Frog's own argument to him.

Agree. They have been hard on manufacturing and the middle class because of trade, but the solution would be more real populism, i.e. farther left, towards Labor and away from Capital. So Tree has no victory here.

There isn’t much global support for the American version of conservatism. What Americans regard as liberalism is basically good governance and it’s hard as hell over here to get good governance. We can blow your country up at the drop of a hat but we just can’t get poor Americans good healthcare.

Where the right is meeting up globally is in anti immigrant and protectist sentiment. Nasty stuff.

  4. Oh pooh.

Brexit, for example, is clearly a Britain-first, anti-globalist, get control of immigration movement.

And Australia, for example, has clearly just elected a Trump supporting, get control of immigration, and just say no to handing your country over to global entities type of Prime Minister.

There is not as much support for the American lefty form of liberalism ie. the road to Venezuela.

Having said that, if we are at odds with some of the other countries over this, then that is a good thing. Obama could not wait to see us become more like France or for us to become a colony managed by the UN - if our joining the EU did not work out.

All you did here was prove my point and highlighted some prime examples of right wing failures. Thanks, I guess.

  6. NEGATORY. I proved that there is support in other countries for aspects of American conservatism.

You seem to be suggesting that the examples I gave are failures just because the road is long and difficult and there is opposition.

Ahh, no. There can be resistance, difficulty and even failure and they can still be proof that there is plenty of support for the American conservative principles. Think Hong Kong, if you need another example. and there are more after that, plenty more.

You have to ask why the extreme liberals of Hollywood, the most privileged individuals on the planet with their hundreds of millions or even billions choose to live the US, which is a capitalist country? Why don't they live in France which is portrayed by extreme liberals as a panacea with great healthcare yet, none of the extreme liberals of Hollywood live there? George Clooney has a villa in France by the way and he left and took his family to the US? Why? He said it was not safe in France after migrants camped near his villa? And this guy has armed bodyguards to boot? See how these extreme liberals of Hollywood love the poor they champion? Why didn't he open his villa and provide them with free food and lodging? After all these extreme liberals are the champions of the poor and downtrodden and are for open borders?

Yeah Hong Kong is fighting for conservatism while Trump has completely ignored it as he is losing a massive trade war with China. Great example.

Look man, what I am saying is that globally right wing people don’t really buy into the American version of conservatism but where there is agreement among the right wing in other countries is in the rise of anti immigrant sentiment and a movement toward protectionism.

That’s it. It’s failing here and failing everywhere else.

  9. Great example indeed, your lateral crabwalk noted and notwithstanding.

The Hong Kong people are flying the American flag a bit more than American lefties are, eh?

  10. Well, Roman Pervertsky left Hollywood to go to/back to France. So there's one Hollywood guy who prefers France.

Of course that pesky little warrant out for his arrest for drugging and anally raping a 14 year old girl might have influenced his decision but we can't read his mind.
