Oh indeed. And when people like Rear-Ender spew at length about how Toronto is the mecca of the New World and the center of the Age of Enlightenment they conveniently go out around that little chapter in Toronto's history. Which of course is a shame, because that is the zenith of entertainment value in Canadian politics. “I’ve run a fantastic city. I don’t want to toot my own horn here but I’m the best mayor this city has ever had.” Ford on his run as mayor during a radio interview on Nov. 3, 2013. “Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine… Probably in one of my drunken stupors, probably approximately about a year ago.” Ford admitting to smoking crack cocaine and denying ever lying about it on Nov. 5, 2013. “I’ve never said that in my life to her, I would never do that. I’m happily married, I’ve got more than enough to eat at home.” Ford on allegations he made crude comments to a female assistant about performing oral sex on Nov. 14, 2013. “The revelations yesterday of cocaine, escorts, prostitution has pushed me over the line and I used unforgivable language and again I apologize. These allegations are 100 per cent lies.” Ford on more allegations on Nov. 14, 2013. “This… reminds me of when I was watching with my brother when Saddam (Hussein) attacked Kuwait and (U.S.) President Bush said ‘I warn you, I warn you, I warn you, do not.’ Well folks, if you think American-style politics is nasty, you guys have just attacked Kuwait.” Rob Ford before the council vote to strip him of his powers on Nov. 18, 2013. “Bumbaclot, mon.” Ford speaking Jamaican patois in a fast food restaurant during an odd rant captured on video on January 20, 2014. “I have a problem with alcohol, and the choices I have made while under the influence. I have tried to deal with these issues by myself over the past year. I know that I need professional help and I am now 100 per cent committed to getting myself right.” Ford said in a statement on April 30, 2014, after three Toronto newspapers published numerous reports, including another video of him allegedly smoking crack cocaine, an audio recording of the mayor drunk, spewing profanities and making lewd comments, and witness accounts of him snorting cocaine in a Toronto nightclub. “It’s not just an addiction. Some people can drink, some people can casually use drugs. I have a disease. I have a chronic disease. I was born with blond hair and I’m going to die with blond hair. I was born with this disease. I’m going to die with this disease.” Ford in July 2014. “This is what I love to do. This is not causing the disease. I’ve had this disease before I even entered this office.” Ford on whether stress from being mayor contributed to his alcohol and drug abuse in July 2014. “I offended a lot of people and all I can do is apologize and say sorry. I cannot change the past.” Ford in July 2014. "Toronto should be a “refugee-free zone”
I guess even most of the Canadians now see how bad Justin Trudeau is for Canada! Truth be told, he looks like a wimp beside, President Donald Trump! Even Europeans are saying they wish they had Donald Trump as their President! Hilarious!
Liberals aren't a "lefty" party, dumb ass. Again, some of you Americans can't seem to understand we don't have the "left vs right" bs that you are obsessed about.
Certainly it would have been more fitting if he was mayor of a dump like Tampa Bay. Such is politics, you guys elected Trump a fascist who hates on women and promotes racist policies and themes. Ford was relatively harmless; Trump is an extreme sociopath doing very real damage to all sorts of people.
And yet Toronto is a far more successful and livable city with even better prospects then almost anywhere in the US. And most importantly we educate most of our young people to be far more capable, compassionate, productive members of society then you could ever be. Basically the only purpose you serve on this forum is to help illustrate why the US is declining in very real ways.
I'm not impressed with Trudeau but Scheer is a far less attractive option, and I think ultimately they lost the election because of their choice of leader. For those of us who care about performance, a minority government may be ideal to send a message to both parties to get their act together. A lot of good things going on in Canada but the Liberals have dragged their feet on numerous things, and been far too forgiving of Trump and his bs act. I see significant vote increases for the Green Party and BQ, suggesting the big two parties are on notice.
This is what I hear from the most Canadians around me, they prefer a minority government because better legislation typically comes out of it. And I knew Trudeau didn't need much help because here in "conservative" Alberta the conservative party was surprisingly not the overwhelming favorite you might expect. Anyway, whatever happens, minority or majority, the liberal Liberal party will have to work with the liberal NDP party and the liberal Green Party and the liberal BQ party in order to govern. Lol @ American conservatives latching on to this election like it proves Trump and his lemmings right.
Though it does look like he is going to lose his majority and have to broker a coalition with the NDP or such to form a government. Not sure yet. Just glanced above. Probably this has been said.
